Using Audacity to Record
1. Go to start, then programs and next to Audacity.
2. Click on the red circle (record) and begin talking.
3. After you are done speaking, click on the yellow square to stop
recording.
4. To edit the loudness of the segment, slide the tab toward the plus sign
to increase, minus to decrease. It is circled above.
5. To add audio (music) to clip, click on file, import…audio.
6. To save in Audacity format (.aup) click on file – save.
7. To save, finalize and e-mail, click on file – export and save as type:
.MP3. (MP3 is a more recognizable format) file name should be your
last name.
Note: Some teachers will ask that you save to their K drive or Vol 1 on
Kenston. At the “Save in” drop down menu look for Vol1 on
Kenston_server (K). Double click on Student dropbox. Look for the folder
with your teacher’s name and open it to save your file.
