SPINACH SALAD/POPPY SEED DRESSING MANDARIN ORANGE SALAD
¾ t poppy seed ¼ head lettuce
1/3 cup white vinegar ¼ bunch romaine lettuce
¾ cup oil 1/3 cello bag spinach
1/3 cup sugar 2 medium stalks celery chopped
¾ T grated onion 2 green onions chopped
¾ t. salt 1 can mandarin oranges chilled and drained
1/3 t. mustard Sweet and Sour dressing:
pour over salad when ready to eat ¼ cup veg oil
2 T sugar
2 bunches fresh spinach 2 T vinegar
1 small head lettuce 1 T parsley
1 purple onion sliced dash pepper Serves 6-8
¾ lb. fresh mushrooms
3.4 lb. swiss cheese Toasted Almonds
½ lb. bacon crumbled ¼ cup slivered almonds
1 cup cottage cheese 1T plus 1 t sugar
cook and stir til coated
ROMAINE LETTUCE (maple valley) CRUNCHY PEA SALAD
5 strips bacon Dressing: ½ t. salt
feta cheese 2 T sugar 1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen petite peas, thawed
sugared pecans 2 T vinegar 1 cup celery chopped
pears (or apples) 1 T. dried parsley ¼ cup green onion
Romaine lettuce 4-5 drops Tabasco 1 cup cashew or macadamia nuts chopped
Mix at last min. ¼ cup veg oil ¼ cup crisp bacon cits
1 cup sour cream
¼ Garden Café Dressing
POMEGRANTE LETTUCE SALAD (Jane Dudley) ½ t. salt
Chill and serve on a bed of crisp leaf lettuce.
1 head romaine
1 red apple diced Garden Café Dressing
1 pomegrante seeded 2 t. lemon juice 1 t. Dijon mustard
Dressing: 1 T vinegar, 1 cup red wine vinegar 1 clove garlic mashed
2 T veg oil, 1 ¼ T salt 1 t. sugar
3 T sugar, 1 t. pepper 3 cups corn oil
Dash salt, 1 T Worcestershire sauce Mix in blender dripping in
kiwi is optional oil slowly
Great Christmas salad but buy your pomegranate
early or they will be out of season
CHINESE CHICKEN SALAD FROZEN CRANBERRY SALAD
Diced chicken (precooked) tossed in 1 t. soy sauce 6 oz. pkg. cherry jello
and 1/4 t. sugar 6 oz. jar maraschino cherries
½ to 1 head lettuce 1 can jellied cranberry sauce
1 green onion slivered 6 T lemon juice
4 oz. bean thread, deep fried
Toss with dressing: Slice cherries, use juice and wter to make 3 cups
4 T sugar 1 ½ t. salt liquid. Boil- dissolve jello – add cranberry sauce 0
4 T lemon juice ½ t. pepper blend. Stir in lemon juice and cherries. Freeze in
2 T oil ½-1 t sesame oil 9x13 pan. Thaw 30 minutes before serving.
Topping:
1 cup whipped topping
4 T sugar
BROCCOLI MANDARIN SALAD (Kim Button) 1 t vanilla
1 T lemon juice
Make & chill ahead 1 T mayo
1 egg & 1 egg yolk
½ cup sugar
1 ½ t corn starch CABBAGE SALAD
1 t dry mustard
¼ cup tarragon wine vinegar 2 T sesame seed
¼ cup water ½ c almond slivers toasted
3 T butter soft ½ head cabbage
½ c mayo 4 green onions
In double broiler, whisk eggs and sugar, mustard and 1 pkg. top ramen noodles crushed
corn starch. Slowly add vinegar and water whisking Dressing:
constantly til thickens remover from heat and stir in 2 T sugar
butter, mayo and refrigerate. 2 T vinegar

4 cup broccoli chopped ½ t salt
½ cup raisins ½ t pepper
6 slices bacon (6 T bits) seasoning pkg. of soup
2 cups mushrooms sliced
½ cup slivered toasted almonds CHICKEN HAWAIIAN SALAD (Diane Howarth)
1 can mandarin oranges drained
½ large red onion thinly sliced 1 8 oz. tidbits pineapple
Pour dressing on last 3 c diced chicken
Easily serve 10-12 people 1 c celery diced
½ c chopped almonds
STRAWBERRY SET SALAD 1 c grapes
2 pkg. strawberry jello 1 t olive oil
1 ½ c boiling water 1 t vinegar (optional)
2 cans crushed pineapple drained ½ c mayo
2 mashed bananas 1 t salt
1 sm. Sour cream Serves 7-8 people Serve with olives, sweet pickles
dissolve and add everything except sour cream and lettuce
Set half, add cream, set 2nd half on top
CHICKEN RELIEF SOCIETY SALAD GREEK PASTA SALAD
Chicken, grapes, pineapple. Mandarin oranges, Your favorite pasta (crinkle is my favorite)
apples, almonds, celery, water chestnuts, macaroni Variety of fresh veggies: bell peppers, red onion,
shells cucumber, tomato, etc…
Dressing: 1 c may and 1 large Coleslaw dressing Olives, halved
Feta cheese crumbled
Fresh basil (if available)
ORANGE SALAD (May use Strawberry too!)
Dressing:
½ big cool whip 7 ounces Balsamic vinegar (little less than a cup)
2 orange jello 9 ounces olive oil (little more than a cup)
2 small pineapple drained 1 T sugar
2 mandarin orange can drained 2 t salt
½ carton cottage cheese 1 ½ t pepper
Stir, Set, Eat 1 t dried basil
1 t dried oregano
pinch thyme
VEGETABLE DIP pinch dried garlic bits
2 c mayo shake well and pour on salad just before serving
2 c sour cream This makes a lot!!
2 t onion powder
2 t bon appetite
2 t dill
Chill
FRUIT DIP
8 oz. cream cheese softened
8 oz. cool whip carton
1 cup powdered sugar
A second fruit dip
4 oz. cream cheese
2 T orange juice concentrate
1 jar marshmallow cream
CROUTONS
1 loaf sandwich bread
½ c butter
8 oz. sharp cheddar or Monterey/jalapeño
8 oz. cream cheese
2 egg whites beaten
Cut 1 inch squares. Melt cheeses in double broiler
then cool to room temp, fold in egg whites, dip bread
in. Freeze on cookie sheet then in bag. Bake 400
degrees 20 minutes.
