My (a little bit late) New Year's Resolution (yes it is a little after New
Year's, but still a good time to reflect on some goals for yourself!)
Part 1: To record your resolution:
1. Open Microsoft Word
2. Type up 5-6 sentences stating what your resolution is and how you are going to
accomplish it.
3. Save the word document, but keep it open.
4. Open Audacity. Minimize the windows so you can see both the word document
and the audacity screen.
5. Record your resolution in by using the word document as a guide.
6. Save your audacity project as:
a. first name_resolution
Part 2: To export your audacity file to an MP3 file:
1. Have open your audacity project with your recorded resolution
2. Go to File Export as MP3
3. Locate your server folder
a. Name the file:
i. firstnamelastinitial_resolution
4. Close the audacity program
Part 3: Importing the MP3 file into your blog post:
1. Login to blog
2. Write a post
3. Title your post as normal. You can write a brief intro in the main page area if you
choose.
4. Scroll down on the page and locate this upload area:
Do NOT use this upload
area!
5. Choose Browse and locate your MP3 file you saved into your server folder.
6. Then choose upload.
7. You will see the name of the file appear – the spelling & spacing is important!
Pay attention to it!
8. Go back to your blog post area and type the following into the visual screen area.
[audio:trisha-resolution.mp3]
Obviously, you replace my file name
with your filename!
Preview and then publish.
You are done, take some time to listen to the
other recordings on the blog!
