2004 Annual County Profile Benton Executive Summary As of 2003, Benton County’s largest private industry was Trade, representing 21.45 percent (1,184) of the county’s total covered employment of 5,521. Although the county’s total employment decreased by 2.63 percent since 2002, the average annual wage increased by 5.80 percent to $25,747 for all industries. Benton County’s average weekly wage for all industries was $495 for 2003. This was an increase of 5.77 percent since 2002. The highest average weekly wage for a sector was in Manufacturing, averaging $668 with gross total wages of $25.3 million. Between 2002 and 2003, the Wholesale Trade industry had the largest percentage increase in average weekly wage of 16.93 percent ($96).
