Sam’s Club Step Up for Small Business
Project Partnership General Terms and Conditions
1 Partnerships with local Sam’s Clubs will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis. A Club may choose to re-
strict the number of teams with which it partners.
2 SIFE teams and their Sam’s Club partner associate(s) will complete a two-project that empowers a small business
through improved business and environmental practices. The small business(es) empowered must have fewer
than 75 employees.
3 Final project components include: an online Final Impact Report that details the project(s) and the outputs and
outcomes generated. The online Final Impact Report must be submitted through the www.sifesams.org website
no later than 11:59 PM CST, April 16, 2012. Entries submitted after this date will not be eligible for judging. A
sample Final Impact Report is available at www.sifesams.org.
4 Entries will be judged by a panel of Sam’s Club associates.
5 Eight finalists will be selected to receive $1,000 and a plaque.
6 The Small Businesses assisted by the eight finalists will also receive $1,000 and a plaque.
7 The top three teams will be announced at the 2012 SIFE USA National Competition in Kansas City, MO, May 22-
24. Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded – National First Place – $5,000; National Second Place $4,000; Na-
tional Third Place - $3,000.
8 Up to 175 SIFE USA teams will be awarded a $1,500 grant from SIFE to be used for Sam’s Club Step Up for
Small Business activities and supplies. All grant applications must be received by October 28, 2011. The grant
application will consist of small business participant, a detailed list of expected expenses and project concept.
Grant announcements will be made and distributed in November.
9 Participating SIFE teams agree to abide by all logo guidelines when using the Sam’s Club logo. SIFE teams are
required to recognize Sam’s Club in all Sam’s Club Step Up for Small Business project activities, including media
articles, as the sponsor of the Sam’s Club Step Up for Small Business Project Partnership.
10 Participating SIFE teams agree to allow team contact information to be shared with Sam’s Club.
11 All entries become the property of SIFE and Sam’s Club and will not be returned. By entering, each entrant team
forfeits to SIFE and Sam’s Club all rights to content of its Entry and concepts embodied therein. Entrant uncondi-
tionally assigns and transfers to Sponsor all rights, title, interest and claims, which it now has or may in the future
have to the entries or any element(s) thereafter including without limitation, the copyright therein. By entering, en-
trant teams agree that they have no right to bring (and covenant not to bring) any claim, action, or proceeding of
any kind or nature whatsoever against Sam’s Club or SIFE, or any of their respective affiliated companies, subsid-
iaries, officers, directors, employees, agents, assigns or shareholders in connection with the Sam’s Club Step Up
for Small Business Project Partnership.
