The Class of 1941 graduated from the University at the inception of World War II. Living through the war years,
they witnessed great upheaval throughout the world and lost many of their classmates in the conflagration. Their
experiences instilled in them a deep concern for the issues of world peace and the furthering of human progress.
On the occasion of their 50th reunion, these alumni sought to express this concern through the endowment of an
annual awards program for junior and/or senior students at Commonwealth Honors College who share with them a
commitment to the betterment of the world.
Selection: Applications will be reviewed and recipients selected by a committee convened by the dean of the
Commonwealth Honors College.
