DIACRITICS & SPECIAL CHARACTERS
IN UNICORN

Diacritics and special characters are entered into Unicorn records using a sequence of
keystrokes. On the accompanying charts, there are 2 sections for each diacritic/special
character in the "Keystroke Sequence" column. The diacritic/special character is created
by first typing the keystrokes specified in the first column and then typing the
keystroke(s) specified in the 2nd column.
For example:

Acute Accent Ctrl/1 b
To create the Acute Accent, you would first press Ctrl and then the "1" (one) key, holding
both down simultaneously. After releasing those keys, you would press the "b" key. The
"Ctrl/1" combination signals the system that the next keystroke is for a different character
set.

For the Hook O, the "Ctrl/1" keystrokes work the same way that they do for the Acute
Accent example above. For the Hook O, however, the 2nd keystroke also has 2 steps,
e.g. you need to hold down the "Shift" key while pressing the "," (comma) key.
