Use the Advanced sheet to specify different functions (image backup, compression), different data change rates, or media copy properties for individual computers.
Assumptions
Basic sizer includes image backup and client compression on all clients.
Disk storage requirements include online backup data, media copies on disk, database, and database backups on disk.
Online backup data storage requirements are based on the default daily and weekly backup schedules.
Data compression ratio used is 30%. This value can be specified on the Advanced sheet and will be used on both sheets.
Actual data compression ratio is dependent on the data being backed up.
Differential backup size assumes that 50% of the daily change overlaps previously changed data since the last full backup.
Total disk storage required includes 65 GB for TSM Express database, recovery log, and database backups on disk.
Media copies are point-in-time copies of online backup data that can be kept as long as necessary.
For the Basic sizer, the number of tape volumes is based on the default weekly media copy schedule with one media group for each type of client.
Tape volume capacity used is 200 GB. This value can be specified on the Advanced sheet and will be used on both sheets.
