Code of Conduct
Introduction:
The JEKCA Limited is committed to be an ethical and social responsible corporation.
Therefore, the JEKCA Limited requires all the vendors comply with this Code of
Conduct. The JEKCA Limited may visit vendors’ facilities to audit the compliance with
this Code with or without any advance notice. Any violation with this Code may
result in termination as The JEKCA Limited’s vendors.
1. Legal Compliance
Vendors must strictly comply with the local laws and regulations of the countries in
which they operate. Shall there be any violations and ambiguities between the local
laws and regulations and this Code, vendors should always comply with the former.
2. Environment
Vendors must strictly comply with the local laws and regulations regarding
environmental protection. Vendors should strive to avoid severe environmental
pollutions. Besides those required by applicable laws and regulations, vendors shall:
- Reduce energy usage, waste and emissions to air, ground and water;
- Prevent direct discharge of untreated waste
- Properly store, handle and dispose hazardous materials
3. Worker Health & Safety
Vendors shall provide a safe and healthy working environment for their workers, in
compliance with the local laws and regulations.
Workers shall be given sufficient training before operating machines, equipment, and
handling hazardous materials. Training records shall be properly retained. Workers
shall also be equipped with sufficient protective equipments before engaging in
potentially harmful operations.
4. Discrimination
Direct or indirect discriminations against race, color, age, sex, religion, language,
sexual orientation, ethnic origin, or other status are strictly forbidden.
Except required by applicable local laws and regulations, mandatory pregnancy tests,
HIV/AIDS tests or other medical tests must not be required.
5. Child Labor
The JEKCA Limited does not accept any form of child labor. Vendors must employ
workers who are older than the minimum age required by applicable laws for
employment. Vendors shall establish child labor prevention policy to protect the best
interests of child.
6. Freedom of Association
Vendors shall respect the rights of workers to associate freely. Collective bargaining
activities by workers shall not be prevented.
7. Corruption and Bribery
Any form of corruption is strictly prohibited. Vendors shall not promise, demand,
accept or offer bribes in whatever means in order to obtain an improper advantage
or lead to unfair competition.
8. Working Hours
Workers shall not be required to work over 60 hours per week, including overtime.
All overtime working hours shall be based on a voluntary basis. Workers shall be
given one rest day every seven-days. Under no situation shall the working hours be
over the requirement by applicable local laws and regulations.
9. Wages and fringe benefits
Workers shall be paid at a reasonable wage which shall be at least the minimum
wage required by applicable local laws and regulations. Overtime hours shall be
compensated at a premium rate. Wages shall be distributed to workers not less
frequently than a monthly basis. Vendors shall provide workers with sick leave,
maternity leave and other fringe benefits required by the local laws and regulations
to which they are entitled to. Wage deduction as a means of disciplinary punishment
shall be prohibited.
10. Involuntary Labor
Vendors must not use or benefit from any form of involuntary labor. Workers must
have the freedom of movement and the right to terminate their employment with
reasonable notice. Confiscation of any personal belongings such as ID cards or
passport must not be allowed.
