Teachers Blog
I basically want a VERY nice and attractive blog for me to put my blogs about
different topics (I choose the topics). Here are some POSSIBLE topics I may talk
about – the other teachers do not have to talk about same topics. So, allow them to
create as many topics as they want and choose the titles.
1) School (the school I am currently teaching at)
2) Calculators – here I would talk about the good/bad/ugly of calculators.
3) Teachers – talk about teaching methods and quality of teachers, etc.
4) etc
I was thinking about a tab or bar or somethign for each topic I want (with the ability
to add more or delete some).
Then people can see my blog for each one and add comments, etc…
In otherwords – I don’t want one blog for EVERTHING…. Too messed up.
For example – the school one – I would want my students/their parents/other teachers
to sign up and tell me who they are (then I can approve them) then they can write
comments WITHOUT my approval. Of course say something like – you may not
write hurtful comments – no yelling at others, etc…. However, other people can still
add comments but I have to approve them – or someone else with approval authority.
I may even want to further break down some. Like under School – put homework –
where I can put the homework for each day and they can ask questions and others or
me can answer them. I can put Vocabulary words…Exams… etc… Don’t want to
make them sign up for each of them – just for school and then they get access to the
others. However, I may want one to be READ only – ie – ONLY I can write to it.
Can I make it so that Under Teachers – if they already signed up for School – they
don’t have to sign up again. However, Just because they signed up for Teachers
doesn’t mean they have rights to write comments under school. They just don’t have
to sign up again. So, I need a way for me to manage rights. Most of the time – I
will allow all those in School to write to every other one except my personal ones.
What ideas you have on this?
I also want to specify whether pictures can be added or not. Also, EVERY comment
and every sign in must pass CAPTCHA (did I spell that right?) (NO CHANCE for
BOTS will be allowed).

Advertisements:
I do want to allow businesses to advertise on my website – so they need a way to
upload advertisement (must tell them what format, etc) and pay. Then they need to
see stats about their advertisement. The advertisement would be shown
RANDOMLY – ON ALL Pages. I may want to decide – 1 month or 3 months or 6
months or 1 year prices.
Also, google adsense will be on all pages.
Other Teachers:
I want other teachers to be able to use my blogging site also.
Each one will be able to specify a title for their blog (including me) – that will show at
the top.
1) Allow them a free site – look like mine – my advertisements and my adsense will
show up on their site. Same domain name – just add /teachername (username really)
to the domain (of course need to make sure it doesn’t exist and not a special name –
like advertisers, since you will have that link). And of course can be searched from
my home page
2) Allow them a paid site (1 - cheap) – like mine – MY advertisements and THEIR
adsense will show up on their site. Same domain name – just add /teachername to
the domain (of course need to make sure it doesn’t exist). And of course can be
searched from my home page
3) Allow them a paid site (2 – more expensive) – like mine – THEIR advertisements
and THEIR adsense will show up on their site. Same domain name – just add
/teachername to the domain (of course need to make sure it doesn’t exist). Can they
make changes to the format if they want???? And of course can be searched from my
home page
Give them the option to allow everyone to write on their blogs or just certain ones and
allow them to do approvals just like me.
Can you make sure they can’t change the google adsense for the free one? And can’t
delete my advertisements?
So that means on main site – at the top say – this is Markis’ blog – if you are looking
for another teachers’ blog – choose from here – maybe give teachers name and school
or other info the teacher wants to give.
Or how do you think the main page should be?
So, that also means there needs to be a way that new teachers can sign up and pay or
select free blog. Then they will need to be given instructions on how to add/modify
the tabs (maybe give them default ones – which they can change – like teaching and
homework).
Also, need a way to send messages to users. So, each person gets a message box.

What else can I add that will make my blog site better? Any improvements?
PLEASE, I want a programmer/designer to give me their inputs. I was a
programmer (not web) for 8 years. So, I know how important a programmer’s ideas
are! I can’t possibly know everything that will make my site wonderful. You tell
me! I will give a NICE bonus if it is a GREAT looking website that is EASY to use.

Advertisers:
After they have signed up – then they will log in at a different screen/link
Give them their own login screen [after they have signed up] (ie they will not see
where to login if they go to the normal website – so they have to go to
www.xxx.com/advertisers (or something like that).
They should see how well their advertisements have been doing.
How many impressions and how many clicks and anything else you can tell them –
like unique visitors, etc… (I think my webhoster has some tools you might be able to
use).
They should be able to submit a few different kinds of banners.
Top/bottom level banner (biggest – top cost more)
side banners – smaller and cheaper.
Make sure you tell them the size and have them pay with paypal.
Make sure they understand – NO nudity – and must be appropriate for ALL ages.
IMPORTANT
Can I have a page that gives a list of the teachers blogs and give a brief introduction
about what each one covers. (so they will need a place to enter that). So visitors can
select a blog they are interested in.
