Who May Apply (specifically)

Eligible applicants are local education agencies (LEAs), applying on behalf of a school or schools in

which 75 percent or more of the children are from low-income families, in partnership with at least

one of the following: an institution of higher education (IHE); a museum; a local arts agency or cul-

tural entity that is accessible to individuals within the school district and that has a history of pro-

viding quality services to the community.

This program supports school-community partnership programs designed to improve the education

performance of at-risk children by providing arts education services and programs, especially pro-

grams incorporating arts education standards.

These include school-community arts partnerships that support arts education and enrichment

activities for at-risk children and youths.
