Program Description
The purpose of this program was to provide grants to LEAs to recruit, hire, and train individuals to
serve as drug-prevention and school safety program coordinators in schools with significant drug
and school safety problems.
Types of Projects
Projects used full-time coordinators who served at least one and no more than four school(s) and
were responsible only for administering this Safe and Drug-Free Schools grant program at these
schools. Coordinators developed, conducted, and analyzed assessments of drug and crime problems
at these schools.
