STOCKTON DOWNED BY CATHOLIC 63‐58
(Westminster, MD) – Richard Stockton (1‐1) was downed 63‐58 by Catholic University (1‐1) in the first
round of the McDaniel College Tip‐Off Tournament. LaTonya Oliver (West Berlin/Overbrook) led the
Ospreys with team highs of 12 points and seven rebounds. Aspen Price‐Perry (Lindenwold/
Lindenwold) tossed in 11 points.
Stockton opened up a six‐point lead twice in a close first half that also featured five ties. The Ospreys
settled for a slim 31‐29 advantage at the break. Price‐Perry drained a three‐pointer early in the second
half that increased Stockton’s lead to 36‐31 but Catholic took the lead for good by scoring 12
unanswered points to pull ahead 43‐36.
Stockton’s deficit reached 10 points before the Ospreys made a run with an 8‐0 spurt that brought them
within 52‐50 on a three‐pointer by freshman Alex Nardoza (Woodbridge/Woodbridge) with 6:40 on the
clock. Catholic stayed in front and took control of the game by scoring the next six points while Stockton
went scoreless for the next 4:20 and suffered the 63‐58 defeat.
Stockton will face Hollins University (VA) in the consolation game of the McDaniel Tip‐Off Tournament
tomorrow at 1 pm.
