AREA DRILL& PIPING COMPETITION 2010
1. The Area Drill & Piping Competition for 2010 will take place on Sunday 11 April 2010 at Tooting
TA Centre.
2. The drill purpose/parade purpose weapon changeover has significantly impacted on competition
events this year. The national competition has been cancelled and our own Area competition is taking
place at a time when access to rifles almost impossible. For this reason, the armed elements of the Area
competition in 2010 will be abandoned.
3. One entry of two Unarmed, two individual pipers & one piping team will be accepted from each
District (to be nominated by the District Officer or Deputy/Assistant District Officer). No Colour Party, MC
Troop or Armed entries will be accepted. Permitted unarmed entries will be increased to two per District,
one of whom may be Marine Cadets if they wish to do wholly unarmed drill.
4. Entries should be submitted to the Area Staff Officer Ceremonial via e-mail or fax not later than
20 March 2010. Details of individual cadets are not required at this stage. Drill team entries of less than
12+1 must be agreed with the Area Staff Officer Ceremonial before submission. No reserves will be
accepted.
5. The current National Drill & Piping Competition Rules available on the SCCHQ Admin website
will be applicable to all elements of this competition. Only drill movements contained in BRd1834
Chapter 2 for SC entries and BRd2118 Chapter 2 for MC entries will be permitted.
6. Information for teams and entry forms will be distributed to District Officers, MCSO, Assistant
District Officers and appropriate Commanding Officers as entries are submitted or by 26 March 2010 at
the latest.
7. Volunteers to act as marshals, judges and support staff should contact the Area Staff Officer
Ceremonial by 20 March 2010.
8. This LATM may be made waste on 15 April 2010.
