Personal Review: The Full Plate Diet: Slim Down, Look Great,
Be Healthy! by Diana Fleming
The beauty and simplicity of The Full Plate Diet first drew my attention and
a quick scan of the attractive pages convinced me that this was not a fad
diet. The principles of nutrition are sound but can something as simple as
increasing fiber really result in significant weight loss and is such a diet
satisfying and sustainable? I was skeptical. It seemed too easy to be
true. My skepticism was exacerbated by the fact that I was already near
vegan but still battling the bulge. Wouldn't it be difficult to achieve 40
grams of fiber per day? I was intrigued with this bold and simple concept
so I read more carefully. When I got to chapter 6, Fiber Power Ups, I
caught myself exclaiming, "Wow!" out loud. I can get 40 grams with just a
salad and an entrée? I felt compelled to give it a try. The outcome so far?
With just a little tweaking of my former diet, specifically an emphasis on the
Top 5s in chapter 5, and inclusion of some chapter 6 Power Ups, I'm
getting 35 to 40 grams of fiber. No measuring or math is involved and the
bulge is melting away at a rate of two or three pounds per week. Yes, the
full plate diet is simple. satisfying and sustainable.
