Florida Tech Announces New Major

In an effort to retain more freshman students, Florida Tech will be add-

ing a new major to the College of Engineering. Culinary Precision Engineer-

ing will start offering classes in the fall of 2005. Florida Tech President

Catanese put out this statement: “We here at Florida Tech realize that not

everyone is meant to be an engineer, nor would we be comfortable placing

our lives in their incompetent hands. However, rather than lose these people,

we can easily keep them on in a program where we feel comfortable with

their level of responsibility and makes them feel good about themselves.” A

few classes have already been created. CPE 3002, ‘Thermodynamics of

Chicken’ will entail the study of exact microwave time for warming up chicken

patties. CPE 2004 ‘Methods in Fry Implementation’ will teach students the

skill of managing fry creation during busy lunch periods. Finally, CPE 4002,

‘Theory of Burgers’ will be an advanced design class, where the student will

learn the proper procedure for putting burgers together, from condiments and

secret sauces to bun toasting and assembly. The program will culminate with a

three hour long Senior Shift, where the student will be placed in a local fast

food chain, and professors will judge them on their success during their shift.

Plans to add a master’s and Ph.D. program are still currently under develop-

ment.

Playboy Announces ‘Girls of Florida

Tech’ Issue

In a press conference held at the foot of Shaw Hall, Playboy founder and

all around horny bastard Hugh Hefner announced a talent search for women

from Florida Tech to appear in an upcoming issue of Playboy. “After we found

out that Florida Tech overtook JMU for the college with the hottest women,

we knew that Melbourne is the place to be, and soon to be the hottest party

town in the US of A.” Initial screenings will start on Friday on the second

floor of the SUB. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, be a registered

full time student, and be willing to sleep with Hugh Hefner.
