Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) Searches Provided by the Colorado Bureau
of Investigation (CBI)
Our service is provided pursuant to CRS 24-72-306 includes the following.
Internet Based Name Search - $6.85. The search requires a credit card and is
conducted using full name and date of birth. Internet address:
www.cbirecordscheck.com
Manual Name Searches - $13.00. The search is conducted of our files using full name
and date of birth. PERSONAL CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED. Remit only business checks
that are preprinted, money orders, cashier checks or certified checks.
Fingerprint Search - $16.50. Fingerprints are searched through our Automated
Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) and any record matching by fingerprints is
provided, regardless of the name(s) used at time(s) of arrest.
Fingerprint Search (specific agencies authorized by law) - $17.50. Fingerprints are
searched through our Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) and any
matching record by fingerprints is provided regardless of the name(s) used at time(s) of
arrest. Specific agencies authorized by law will receive subsequent notification of arrests.
CBI/FBI Fingerprint Search - $38.50
CBI/FBI Fingerprint Search - $39.50 (specific agencies authorized by law)

records, the FBI searches fingerprints forwarded by the CBI. The FBI responses are
limited to governmental agencies that must be responsible for the criminal history record

Note: CBI records reflect fingerprint-based arrests provided by Colorado law
enforcement agencies for the State of Colorado only. Arrests which are not supported by
fingerprints will not be included in the record. Additionally, warrant information, sealed
records, and juvenile records are not available to the public. The CBI relies on criminal
justice agencies forwarding fingerprints to the CBI for inclusion in our records. The CBI
also has to rely on the courts fingerprinting persons who are summoned into court rather
than being fingerprinted by the police when the summons is issued. If the court does
not order fingerprints be taken, the CBI will not have a record of that charge. Fees for
CBI criminal history record information services are reviewed and may be adjusted each
fiscal year.
