Subject: STATE ASSOCIATION ANNUAL CONVENTION JUNE 15-19, 2011
The Washington State Elks Association will conduct its Annual Meeting at the Red Lion Hotel in
Pasco starting on Wednesday, June 15, 2011. The Registration Forms and tentative agendas are
enclosed. You will note that the spouse’s registration fee has been eliminated. However they
will be issued a badge so we will need their name if attending.
The agenda (attached) for this convention has undergone some changes:
The Past State Presidents Luncheon will be held on Friday.
There will be a Friday Night Awards Dinner. This dinner has two selections – Baked Salmon
with a Garlic Cream Sauce or London Broil. Tickets WILL BE required. You may attend the
awards presentation without buying dinner, however be sure to mark it on the registration so
we know how many to expect.
The Polly Garland Awards Luncheon is on Saturday. All Delegates and spouses are invited to
attend.
The Saturday Night BBQ will again be held. See flyer for special “Must Not Miss”
entertainment.
All rooms, single or double, have been reserved at a standard rate of $108.44 including tax. NOTE:
ALL ROOMS ARE NON-SMOKING. The Convention Committee has also arranged for Lodge or
District Hospitality Rooms. For those who wish to do so, rooms near the pool are available on a “first
come – first served” basis. Reservations for these rooms will go to the first Lodges or Districts
submitting their housing forms with the appropriate deposit. Regular rooms can be used for Lodge
Hospitality rooms if desired and arrangements are made with the Convention Committee. There is a
hotel charge of $25.00 to remove beds or furniture. If you desire this service, notify Brian Fitzpatrick
of the Convention Committee at (509) 946-8871 prior to May 24, 2011.
PLEASE NOTE: We only have 200 room nights on Friday night so it will be on a first come, first
served basis. If you do not get your registration in before we reach this maximum you will be housed
at the hotel across the street.
Every effort will be made to insure that each Lodge delegation will be housed on the same floor and
in the same general area. If it is necessary to separate delegates, the Lodges submitting their
housing forms early will receive first consideration.
Registration forms MUST BE RECEIVED AT THE STATE OFFICE NO LATER THAN TUESDAY,
MAY 24, 2011 to guarantee housing reservations at the rate agreed by the hotel. Our contract with
the Red Lion Hotel calls for the release of reserved rooms on May 24 if not utilized. DO NOT miss
the May 24 cut-off if you want to stay at the Red Lion.
Registration Badges must be visible at all times.
Dry RV parking is available at the hotel for a $35.00 charge per night unless you have a room, then it
is free. Check with them when you arrive for the designated area. We also want to have FUN. The
Welcome Reception on Thursday evening places everyone in the mood. The Friday Night Dinner
and Saturday BBQ are for EVERYONE; an opportunity for all of us to socialize and dine together.
PREPAID reservations are REQUIRED. Saturday will have poolside courtyard special entertainment.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Your Convention Committee
