Senior VM and VSE Systems Programmer
Qualifications:
Thirty-seven years experience doing installing, tailoring, problem determination and maintenance
of IBM and third party program products for VM, VSE and other S/360-based operating systems.
Highly skilled in programming innovative systems solutions for unique problems including
cross-system interfaces between VM and VSE. Experience with channel programming, especially
to disk and tape. Thorough dump reading and debugging skills. Experience with most major
releases of DOS (VSE) and VM. Extensive knowledge of internals for both systems. Good
communication skills. Seven years experience supporting mixed environments for multiple
out-sourced clients in a 24x7 environment. Detail oriented but able to stay grounded in the bigger
picture. Self motivated. Believer in communication and documentation. More focused on
stability and functionality than performance.

Designed and implemented asynchronous operator communications task for 44MFT.
Designed and implemented specialized DASD I/O interface access method for Physics
Lab
Maintained and upgraded tape I/O processing for 1401 simulator
Designed and implemented COBOL to BTAM interface for 3270
Designed and implemented multiple-user interface to ISAM database
Participant in creating data center standards manuals
Installed and supported many releases of DOS/VSE (DOS 26.2, DOS/VS Rel
34, VSE/SP, VSE/ESA) along with many program products, including, but not limited
to CICS, VTAM , POWER, FAQS, EPIC and DYNAM.
Installed and supported many releases of VM (VM/370 Rel 6, VM/SP, VM/SP HPO,
VM/XA, VM/ESA) along with many program products, including, but not limited to
RSCS, EPIC, FAQS
Excellent programming skills using assembler, FORTRAN, COBOL, EXEC 2 and
REXX.
Project leader and planner for multiple employers
Exposure to multiple work environments: a major university (3 positions), 2 software
developers, credit-card processing, 2 hospital data centers, manufacturing and
outsourcing.
