FLOW CHART PROBLEM: MANAGEMENT REVIEW
A company uses the process of Policy Deployment to align quality throughout the
organization annually.
The process begins with the evaluation of performance to the prior years plan. New
information is evaluated. Both internal and external data is considered. Internal data
includes customer feedback, corporate objectives and division level objectives. External
data includes market status, economic forecasts and customer inputs.
Evaluation of the current data is used to determine strategic issues. From strategic
issues, objectives are set, performance measures are established and implementation
plans are developed . Once established, these elements of the new year's program are
communicated to the organization.
Once the plans are communicated, organizations begin implementing as appropriate for
their business entity. Upper management periodically reviews the results of the
implementation program in a Policy Deployment Review. In these reviews, results are
assessed for satisfactory performance. A management practice is to document and
standardize satisfactory results. Unsatisfactory results are analyzed for causes of
deviations and counter measure actions are planned and implemented.
Another agenda item for the Policy Deployment Review is the assessment of new key
issues pertinent to the data used to begin the planning cycle. This data is additional input
into the process after the initiation of the Annual Quality Plan.
1. Draw a flow diagram of the policy deployment process.
2. Indicate what steps are in the different phases of the PDCA
cycle.
