									Importance Of Hazard Labels

Every item that is hazardous must be marked with hazard labels. These labels are specially created to mark
out products that may be hazardous. Hazmat stickers can be purchased or created at your home or office.
They can also be downloaded from the internet where they are easily available in PNG or PDF formats. The file
resolutions are usually at 300 dpi for printing purposes. Some of the colored labels come with color separation
too in order to help the printer extract the exact color of the labels while printing them.

Hazard Labels Are Mostly Used By:

The Explosive Industry: The explosive industry uses these hazmat stickers on explosive products like
firecrackers to help those handling them identify these fire inducing products from other products. The label
used by the explosive industry generally has an image of the fire on it.

Products Used As Blasting Agents- Explosives, flammable and non flammable gas products must have hazard
labels on them. Blasting agents are highly combustible in nature. These stickers must be put as eminent
markers on these products when packed.

Inhaling Products- Gas containers, especially those that contain oxygen, toxic, radioactive products, oxidizers,
organic peroxide, gasoline and any other gaseous substances that may end up as inhalation hazards must be
marked with these hazmat stickers.

Combustible Items- Every combustible item like fuel oil must be labeled as combustible so that people
handling them can take adequate precautions. Products with these labels should be kept away from fire and
these labels act as a protective marker for them. Some of these stickers also contain taglines depending on the
product composition such as “Dangerous when wet”, “Keep away from fire”, “handle with care”, “flammable
solid” and “spontaneously combustible”.

Poisonous Items- It is mandatory to have hazard labels on poisonous items such as Phenyl, Acid, and
Insecticides etc. Intake of poisonous items can even result in death. These labels act as a marker to these
dangerous items so that they can be stored in safety, especially away from children.

Almost all of these hazard labels come with adhesives and are stuck to the products like stickers. The sizes of
these labels are close to 3.9 inches, so that they can easily be stuck on crates and boxes of all shapes and
sizes. It is highly essential for those handling hazardous chemicals, materials and products to have adequate
knowledge about these hazard labels so that they can easily identify them while handling these products.
Some of these labels come with technical terms too, which is why it becomes essential to know how to read
them. A poster of hazard labels is thus a must have as it helps immediate identification of these products by
those handling them.
