Synopsis of module Prerequisites
This course aims to expose the students to tools that Nil
are used to deconstruct/analyze visual texts like
paintings and photographs. Students will learn that just
like how they can use tools/techniques like SPECS and
SLIMS to analyze poetry, they too can use techniques to
analyze visual texts, thereby understanding the
artist’s/photographer’s intention behind constructing
his text. It will cover topics such as visual semiotics,
multimodality and theories related to gender, society
and culture.

Psychology is a field that is often misunderstood as Nil
simple common sense, or as being equivalent to self-
help. This course aims to expose the students to the
concept of Psychology as a social science, especially as
covered at university level. It will go on to explore
factors that affect our personality and behavior,
touching on topics such as intelligence, cognitive style
and genetics.
This course focusses on the concept of Shakespearean None
Comedy and the elements of fiction, film and literary
adaptation. Participants will analyse and study the
dramatic text, Twelfth Night, and the film version of
the text.
This module will explore the relationship between Nil
language, gender and power. As language users,
students will be able to differentiate and appreciate the
speech pattern and use of body language between man
and woman. Students will also discover how power
dynamics [through the ages] shape the way man and
woman use language. Students will understand how
power play out in the way the language is used in male-
female situations.

Synopsis of module Prerequisites
It was an event that occurred more than seventy years NA
ago. Yet, the Second World War continues to capture
the imagination of many and lingers heavily in the
minds of the victors and the vanquished. Historical
texts continue to teach readers of what it was like and
what we must learn from it. However, the
entertainment industry has painted different
perspectives of this human catastrophe. This module
aims to establish a fuller understanding of World War
II through the deconstruction of the new media.
Gender - What shapes our views and perceptions of NA
gender? How is it shaped? Why? What is Gender
Equality/Inequality? How can gender equality be
achieved?
This module takes a closer look at selected books and NA
films, and allows students to conclude for themselves
if they have been told the real thing about historical
events and personalities by writers and movie
producers. In the process of reading, watching, and
appreciating, issues like truth, exaggeration, reliability,
bias, perspective and motive will be analysed,
scrutinised and debated on.

The performance has brought MoMA itself to the
cutting edge of contemporary artistic experiment and
has been proven to be a succès fou; a wild success. In
response to the splashes and patterns that constitute
Jackson Pollock’s paintings, someone said “From the
moment I first saw them, I felt Jackson Pollock's action
paintings had something I was yearning for-something
deeply composing and satisfying to me.” An art critic
said “The gesture on the canvas was a gesture of
liberation from value — political, aesthetic, moral."
Yet another critic calls the paintings “decorative
'wallpaper, essentially brainless”. Join us for a journey
of exploration as we delve into the history and
development of modern art movements, and explore
the philosophy behind these art movements. Through
classroom lectures, discussions with experts, field
trips, movies, photographs, film and music, we
discover how art is essentially a reflection of the Life
and Times of the modern age.

Logic is science dealing with the principles of valid Nil Teacher-led
reasoning and argument. Paradoxes are situations, images discussion and
or statements that are absurd or contradictory. In this group
module, you will learn the difference between logic and work/discussio
paradoxes and apply logic reasoning to solve real-life n
problems. You must be willing to spend time and have a
passion to solve puzzles to take up this module. Your
creativity is a bonus.
In mathematics, given an infinite sequence of numbers Nil Teacher-led
{a n }, a series is informally the result of adding all those discussion and
terms together: a1 + a2 + a2 + a3 + a4 + . . .. These can be class work
written more compactly using the summation symbol ∑.
The terms of the series are often produced according to a
certain rule, such as by a formula, by an algorithm, by a
sequence of measurements, or even by a random number
generator. As there are an infinite number of terms, this
notion is often called an infinite series. Unlike finite
summations, series need tools from mathematical analysis
to be fully understood and manipulated. In addition to
their ubiquity in mathematics, infinite series are also
widely used in other quantitative disciplines such as
physics and computer science. This course will enable you
to understand that sequences follow patterns and rules,
series may be summed easily without actual addition and
the sum to infinity exists for convergent geometric
progressions. You will also be exposed to unique
strategies such as Polya’s Problem Solving Model in
solving sequences and series sums.
