PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE



Director of Program Management

The Newsweek/Daily Beast Company LLC, New York, NY August 2009 – Present

Director of Program Management

 Responsible for the project management and business analysis activities for the combined Newsweek.com and

TheDailyBeast.com Digital group.

 Manage the migration of TheDailyBeast.com digital assets to the Adobe CQ5.4 content management system.

 Manage the mobile product platform including the creation of iOS and Android applications, WAP and iPhone optimized

sites, Amazon Kindle, Zinio, and Barnes &Noble Nook products.

 Project lead for the Newsweek iPad application involving multiple external vendors, and launched the first iPad

application allowing readers to buy subscriptions using Apple’s in-app purchasing system.

 Lead project/program manager, and Scrum Master for the Digital group managing the ongoing agile development process.

 Manage the delivery and support of key Product and Audience Development initiatives for Newsweek and the Daily Beast

such as; the Newsweek Education microsite, Women in the World, America’s Best High Schools, Green Rankings, Career

Tree, Newsweek Power 50 List.

 Relationship and contract manager for Digital vendors, and offshore Development and Quality Assurance resource

centers in Russia and Belarus (EPAM).

 Deliver superior project management and requirements analysis to several cross-functional teams such as Design,

Advertising/Revenue Operations, Editorial, Multimedia, and Infrastructure to create new product solutions. Improve

product quality by managing the Quality Assurance process.

 Work with the CEO and Sales & Marketing groups to plan the development and design support for editorial initiatives.

 Develop and analyze success metrics for revenue-generating products using DFP, Omniture, Google Analytics, and

iTunesConnect.

 Lead project manager for IT group on selected projects, such as the Coda 11 Accounting system upgrade and

Salesforce.com development.

 Created a companywide program and project management “community of practice.” Work with Digital and IT PMs and

other non-IT project management staff to maintain a standardized PM toolkit, including methodologies, metrics,

reporting, definitions and other artifacts. Coordinate a regular project portfolio review process.

 Responsible for compiling a regular technology project report card, providing visibility on key metrics, issues and risks

for all major technology initiatives through the company. Ensure that the overall direction and management of projects

is consistent with corporate strategy and that project delivery is satisfactory for internal customers.

 Collaborate with IT and business management to escalate critical cross-departmental issues as well as provide ongoing

recommendations for improving communication between various technology and business units.

Thomas Publishing, New York, NY and Horsham, PA 2008 – 2009

 Responsible for the management and execution of projects for the IT organization, overseeing the complete project

lifecycle from request and approval through execution and support.

 Supervised a staff of 4 Senior Project Managers accountable for a portfolio of >30 projects for the Editorial, Billing,

Finance, and Sales & Marketing groups.

 Established project management standards to be used across the organization. Improved and measured the efficiency

and transparency of the SDLC.

 Ensured that projects were delivered within approved budget, schedule, contingency, and met quality standards.

Implemented risk management and mitigation strategy.

 Managed client relationships and coordinated communication across front office, IT development and QA (both onshore

and offshore), and infrastructure teams.

Citigroup, New York, NY 2005 – 2007

Oversaw the authoring, workflow and distribution technology initiatives of Citi Investment Research.

 Led business analysis and coordinated with the Citi IT department to develop and deploy strategic technology initiatives

for Citi Investment Research.

 Coordinated the analysis, design, and project management efforts for CIR Authoring; a global Research Workflow and

Distribution platform. Created detailed business requirements, functional requirements, and other project definition

documents including: process flow-charts, user-interface designs, and use cases. Evaluated vendors, and conducted

project management operations for the large-scale, multi-vendor solution to existing authoring, workflow, and

distribution systems.





Senior Business Analyst Consulting Assignment at Citigroup Smith Barney

Satyam Technologies, New York, NY 2004 – 2005

Led business analysis and coordinated with Citi IT department to develop strategic technology projects for the Equity Research

Division. Worked directly with the Global Director of Operations for Equity Research.

 Managed business analysis, requirements analysis, user acceptance testing, quality assurance testing, and deployment

for a global database integration project involving proprietary authoring, workflow, and financial measures systems.





Vice President/Project Manager/Lead Developer, Corporate Technology

Merrill Lynch, New York, NY 1991 – 2004

Served as Product Manager, Project Manager and Lead Developer for multiple, large-scale Authorship, Distribution, and

Financial Measures products for the Global Equity Research, Global Fixed Income Research, Economics, Commodities, and

Human Resources departments.

 Managed data trafficking between analysts, compliance, printers, research, and delivery vendors. Served as liaison

between Merrill Lynch research and electronic delivery vendors including Bloomberg, Reuters, and hard-copy delivery

vendors including CMS, WestOne, and Deltec.

 Delivered global research subscription system. Generated subscription reports for Institutional Sales and Research

Analysts. Managed subscription and technical support hotline.

 Managed projects outsourced to Alternative Development Centers (ADCs) in India, including the migration of production

support activities and incremental development for a global financial measures database. Directed overseas

development, defined project scope and managed deliverables.

 Managed staff of 15 developers and database administrators in NY, London, India, and Australia.

 Implemented and supported development lifecycle process controls utilizing the Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF)

model.
