mlt 281 Clinical seminar 4.00 This course introduces new concepts in the
clinical laboratory including laboratory management; state and federal regulations such as
HIPPA, CLIA, and Medicare; point of care testing, and the prevention of laboratory errors.
Other topics include clinical virology, tumor markers, and heavy metals. Students are also
prepared for certification examinations. Prerequisite: Acceptance into the second year of
