VPN CLIENT INSTALLATION AND SETTINGS
Please follow the procedure below to install the VPN Client software on your PC:
I. VPN CLIENT INSTALLATION(3.5 Windows 98 and 3.6 Windows M.E. and up)
A. Install the VPN client by clicking on the "setup.exe" button.
1. Next (Launch Page)
2. Yes (Terms of Agreement)
3. Next (Destination Folder)
4. Next (Program Folder)
5. Finish
B. Computer will restart after installation. When setup is completed, Click on the Cisco VPN
Dialer on the start menu
C. When the VPN Client window opens, click on "New" button
D. Type in a name for the connection on the "Connection Entry" field. You can specify any
name.
E. On the "Host name or IP address of remote server" field, type in IP address: eg.
203.177.21.4
F. Click on "Options" and then "Properties"
G. On the "Properties" window, click on Authentication tab.
H. Define the following on this window:
1. Under Group Access Information
a. Name: eg. globetel
b. Password: eg. globe
c. Confirm Password: eg. globe
I. After the above items are configured, click on "Connect" button.
J. You will be required to type in a Username and Password:
1. Username: eg. president
2. Password: eg. quest
K. Go to "Start" and click on Cisco VPN Client, Set MTU.
L. Click Dial-up
M. Go to custom and set MTU to 1200.
N. You will need to restart your PC for changes to take effect.
O. Make sure computer settings are correct (See Computer Settings in Section 2 of this
manual)
P. To start using the VPN Client, click on the Cisco VPN Dialer in the Start Menu
II. COMPUTER SETTINGS
A. Click Start, Settings, Network and Dial-Up Connections
B. Right Click on which network you shall be using to connect to the internet(eg. Dial-up,
etc.) then select properties.
C. Choose the panel for “Networking” then tick the box “Client for Microsoft Networks”.
D. Click OK
III. TEST INSTALLATION
A. Establish Internet Connection
B. Activate VPN Client. If with token, append the token generated password on the
password.
C. Access Intranet/Extranet applications
IV. TOKEN DIRECTIONS
A. Type “1234” to activate token and generates a number
B. Append number to password on VPN Client
C. Note that token generated passwords changes every 30 seconds
V. HOW TO CONNECT
A. Connect to the Internet
B. Activate VPN Client
C. Enter User Name and Password. (If Token User, append the number generated by the
Token eg. Password: globe542034
D. Press “Connect”
