Saving and Citing a Graphic

Is Free Clipart Really Free?

There are several wonderful ways to add images to your Web

page or presentation. You can collect graphics from the Web,

add photos of your own and even use scanned images.

To save an image from the Web:

Create a folder on your desktop and name it Images

Go to a Web page that offers clipart

Earth

Select a graphic

Copy the URL of the page you are selecting from:

Hold the ctrl key down and click once on the graphic

In the window that pops up scroll down to Save Image to the

Desktop

Minimize the Web, and find the graphic on your

desktop

Name it (you must keep the .jpg suffix at the end of the

name in order for the Web to recognize the graphic)

To Cite Your Source

Click once to highlight the graphic

Go to File > Get info

In the window that pops up paste the URL of the site you

found the graphic on in the comments window

Close the window and place the graphic in your Image folder
