congregations have been affected after leaving the ELCA.

The following are what we have done this summer:

 Visited with pastors/members of churches that left the

ELCA more than a year ago to gain pros & cons. The

churches are in Blanco, Bulverde, Hondo, Kerrville &

“Hike for Hunger” CROP Walk Williamson‟s home

Sept 7: Sacred Arts Begins

Coming October 17

Registration will begin in mid-September for the annual “Hike for Sept 15: Bible Study Kickoff

Hunger” CROP Walk, which raises funds for both world hunger Event- Growing to Be Like Christ

relief (75%) and also our local Food Pantry (25%). How does it Sept 18: Lutheran Fall Festival

work? A Bethany member gets a walker form from our Bethany Sept 19: TLU Professor - Future of Gillespie County

recruiter. Then each walker contacts people he/she knows and asks

them to “sponsor” the walker with a donation. The goal is for each Sept 24: Special Needs Dance

walker to collect $150 in donations for hunger relief. The event is

sponsored by the Gillespie County Ministerial Association. CROP

Oct 10: BLC CHURCH PICNIC

Walks are held all over the USA through Church World Services. Oct 23: WELCA Fall Gathering

Donations can go through CWS, or through a person‟s own 

denomination (such as Lutheran World Relief).
