graduating class have been identified and notified
Contingent upon successful completion of coursework
and examination requirements
Five campuses will guarantee admissions to ELC
students:

Class of 2012 and Beyond
ELC top 9% of graduating students from
each participating high school who have
completed 11 of the 15 yearlong A-G
requirements by their junior year
OR
Statewide top 9% of California high
school students, according to the online
admissions index
Applicants will be guaranteed a spot in
the UC system, but it has not been
determined if admission will also be
guaranteed at specific campuses

Personal Statement Changes
• Three personal statements
– 2 required
– 1 optional (formerly ―additional comments‖
section‖)
• 1,000 words maximum between the
two required essays
– May be allocated however a student wishes
• 550 words maximum for personal
statement 3
