1. Continue in the first language for three more semesters.
2. Take three semesters of a second language (including American Sign Language).
3. Culture option: There are two ways to fulfill the culture option.
a. Continue through the fourth or fifth semester of the language used to fulfill
Part I, and take one or two credits in the same culture area as that language.
b. Take three credits related to a single culture, either the same as or different
from the language used to fulfill Part I. One course credit must focus on the
region of origin. See the on-line list of all approved culture courses.

Students with math SAT scores below 560 (or ACT below 23) must take Math 4 in the
fall of their first year. Only for these students will Math 4 fulfill half of the Math
distribution requirement.

department or program. Two approved half-credit courses in technology may be taken instead of
either one credit in Natural Sciences or one credit in Mathematical Sciences.
