Ziglar - author, salesperson, and motivational speaker
Each one of us is choosing our own role models in
life, and Zig, through this quote, down-to-earth yet so
simplistic in nature, but absolutely true to it’s core, became
my role model. Helping people get what they want should
be a systematic process, not a one-time event. For me,
Toastmasters creates the friendly environment where I can
meet, get help and help my fellow members in
communication and leadership.
The National Job Fair and Training Expo2009 was a
big motivator for me, while participating as volunteer at the
Toastmasters booth. It was an opportunity to meet a lot of
participants, and explain to them why Toastmasters should
be on their agenda; to my wonder even, the words came out
of my mouth, without any preparation, because they were
coming from my heart and my experience: concepts like
organized speech, clear communication, structured content,
career development, sound resume, and many others.
My best wish is to find more people to help other
people get what they want, and where is the best place if not
in our Toastmaster Clubs!

Division A Governor- Hello fellow Toastmasters!
Normand Girard My name is Normand Girard and I am currently the Area 5
Governor within Division A . My Toastmaster journey
started in 2006 when my home Club, The Simcoe
Toastmasters Club was chartered. I held the position of
Sargeant-at-Arms that year, became Club President in 2007,
VP Education in 2008 and finally Area 5 Governor in 2009.
It’s been quite a ride and I have to say that it has been a very
rewarding experience to witness the growth in so many
people thanks to Toastmaster. I know for sure that I have
seen growth in myself. I still remember how nervous I was
when I did my first speech four years ago in front of people
I work with everyday. I would have never imagined that one
day I would have the confidence to chair my own contest or
run in an election for a larger role! Toastmaster has done
that for me and so much more!
Today, I am seeking the position of Division A Governor
within District 60. After having fulfilled many roles,
organized, chaired and acted as Judge and Chief Judge at
many contests at Club, Area and Division levels, I am ready
to take on a new challenge.
I would like to count on your support to achieve my goal
and bring my Toastmaster journey to a whole new level. It
has been and will continue to be my privilege to serve
Division A and all our members.
Thank you for your consideration.

programming earning many certificates, and today my
education continues as a proud Toastmaster.

Area 33 Governor.

Division E Governor- Tammy has been a member of Toastmasters since
Tammy Grant September 2004. Her commitment to the Bowmanville
Toastmaster club has afforded her the opportunity to hold a
variety of executive positions over the last 5 years.
Currently she holds the position of Area 44 Governor and is
Treasurer for her Division.
Tammy has enjoyed each of her positions and takes pride in
the fact that the ideas she implemented remain in place
today for the benefit of club members.
The work experience she has gained over the last 25 years
with the Ontario Government in the areas of
communication, business and administration enhances her
roles in Toastmasters.
The personal gains Tammy has experienced since becoming
a Toastmaster are immeasurable. Her decisiveness,
dedication and discipline to the Toastmaster program have
been beneficial in all areas of Tammy’s life. Leading by
example inspires her and all of those around her to really try
to lead the life they want – to reach high and strive far.
Today she is thankful for the miracles that are happening in
her life, miracles that she believes would never have
happened without Toastmasters.
If elected as Division E Governor for the 2010/2011 year
Tammy promises to carry out her responsibilities and
standards to the very best of her ability. She will achieve
this by working with other members at the district, area and
club levels. She is excited to stretch her communication and
leadership skills, share in and support the various missions
and goals, celebrate achievements and gracefully accept
Closing thought (quote):
I suppose leadership at one time meant muscles, but today it
means getting along with people.

Division F Governor Jeffrey joined Toastmasters in 1995 and earned his DTM in
Jeffrey Brown DTM February 2010. He joined Toastmasters to learn how to
become an extroverted introvert.
He has served in almost all club officer roles for various
clubs in Toronto, both community and corporate. Shortly
after joining his first corporate club, he served as an Area
Governor in 2003-04.
Jeffrey has been instrumental in assisting in the formation of
a few clubs. He mentored Beaches Speeches, a community
club located in the Beaches east end of Toronto. However,
his proudest moment came two years later when he co-
founded two corporate clubs at TD Bank Financial Group
head office, located in TD Tower: Supreme TD
Toastmasters and Toastmasters @ TD. Prior to the
formation of these clubs, TD Bank was the only major
Canadian chartered bank with no affiliation with a
Since then a few more clubs at TD Bank have chartered.
Jeffrey has been employed with TD Bank for 12 years
where he is a Taxation Analyst and serves on the bank’s
Persons with a Disability (PWD) committee. He also enjoys
lending his communication and leadership skills to events
sponsored by TD Bank such as Junior Achievement
programs and fundraising for Juvenile Diabetes Research
In his spare time, he enjoys fitness, listening to music, and,
of course, public speaking. He has also coached people who
have spinal cord injuries with their resume writing and
interviewing technique to help them re-enter the workforce.
