All Eyez on Me by 2Pac
All Eyez (And Earz) On 2Pac
Simultaneously serving as both endless fodder for intellectual debate s and
the album most likely to be blaring out of the adjacent cars window, All
Eyez on Me is a phenomenon that packs a wallop with every listen.
Unquestionably the most nihilistic album to top the Billboard charts--and its
doubtful that any will match it--Eyez also manages to dish out the good-
times dance tunes and still flow seamlessly. Recording commenced within
hours of Tupac Shakurs release from prison, and a years worth of pent-up
ideas are unleashed with a fury akin to lifting the lid on a box of plutonium.
The line between high art and insufferable reality, possibilities and self -
destruction, has never been so blurred. Eyez is a landmark achievement
that is unlikely to be topped by any heir apparent to the hip-hop crown. --

What a brilliant double disc album, considered a classic in all circles of the
rap/hip hop world. Listening to the first disc its hard not to agree, the whole
first disc is brilliant except from Whatz Ya Phone . I didnt like this one but
every other song is fantastic, standouts include: Ambitionz az a ridah, Life
Goes On, I Aint Mad At Cha, 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted and No More
Pain.
Disc 2 is a slightly different story. A mixed bag here, mostly good tracks
but I didnt feel either Check Out Time or Run Tha Streetz. Otherwise the
second disc is good, not near as excellent as the first. From disc 2 I
especially liked All eyez on me, Cant C Me, Picture Me Rollin, Heaven Aint
Hard 2 Find and Shorty Wanna Be A Thug.
Overall a classic album much like the album released a year before this
one (Me Against The World). Even though I felt Me Against The World had
more thoughtful and original lyrics this album displays emotion, heart and
drive. Worth a place on your CD shelf. Go get a slice of rap/hip hop history!
