Pet Foods Analysis

Name: Date: Hour: Date Project is due: Wed Dec 22nd

Day of Week Date

Why late?

If your project was late, describe why

Directions: You are asked to make a recommendation for a dog that is 2 years old and 50 lbs. Using your pet food label handout and/or the

classroom samples of pet food, determine which food would be the best choice in terms of nutrition and cost.

To determine cost per day, you will need to convert from cups to ounces by multiplying by 4. Then convert from ounces to pounds by

dividing by 16. Finally multiply your pounds by cost per pound to find cost per day. Assume that one cup = 4 ounces of food. That means 4

cups = 16 oz = 1 pound of food.

For example, Kibbles „n Bits requires 2.5 cups per day. 2.5 cups = (2.5 x 4) = 10 oz of food ; 10/16 = 0.63 lbs. = 0.63 x $0.95 = $0.60 per day
