What a Pet Friendly shelter does:
• Provides a safe place for owner and their pet in the event of an emergency. Especially those who may not seek shelter due to a pet. • Provides a clean and supervised area away from the general human population during an emergency.
What a Pet Friendly Shelter does not do:
• Allow owner(s) to remain with their pet continuously • A place to board a pet without the owner present • Provide general veterinary care • Provide transportation to and from the shelter
Must haves for sheltering pets:
●Food ●Litter for cats ●Leash and collar ●Crate and bedding ●Current Medical records
