Scholarship Application
About the Spoken-4 Communications, LLC Scholarship:
The Spoken-4 Communications LLC, Scholarship was established in 2006 by two
former HBCU graduates to assist incoming freshmen, as well as college students, in
offsetting the financial obligations of attending a Historically Black College or University
(HBCU) in the United States. The scholarship recognizes both academic distinctions as
well as strong individual character.
Eligibility; An applicant must:
Be a United States Citizen
Be currently enrolled in OR have been accepted into an HBCU in the U.S.
Possess a minimum overall/major Grade Point Average of 3.00 or above (on a
4.00 grade scale) and a Minimum SAT score of 1300 (math and verbal only) OR
possess a minimum overall/major Grade Point Average of 3.00 or above (on a
4.00 grade scale) and a Minimum ACT score of 28.
Have demonstrated leadership through participation in community, church,
extracurricular, or other service-based activities.
Complete and submit all required scholarship forms
Selection Criteria:
Applicants will be selected based on overall academic performance, community
involvement, references and essays.

A. Typed Essay (250-300 words, double spaced, using 12” font) Topic: “Why I’m
The Best Candidate For This Scholarship.”
B. Completed Spoken-4 Communications, LLC application
C. One sealed copy of the applicant’s official high school transcript.
D. One copy of a list of applicant’s current course load.
E. Two letters of recommendation; one from an instructor/teacher and another from
an advisor, counselor, administrator, or other person who can objectively attest to
your abilities and character. Each reference letter must include the following:
Reference’s position and/or title
Description of your motivation and potential for academic success.
Description of the unique and distinctive qualities that describe you
personally.

applied to and have been accepted into an HBCU within the United States.
Furthermore, I have read and agree to all conditions stipulated within this application
packet and I have included all of the required documentation for consideration as a
scholarship recipient.
