Sample Cover Letter for Prospective Patients
Optimal Oral Health Report, Vol. 1, No. 1, Summer 2004
[Date]
Dear [Name],
Welcome to [Community Name]. I am writing to introduce myself and let you
know that I am available to serve you. I have been in practice in this community for
[Number] years. My dental practice takes a comprehensive oral health approach and may
be different than any you have previously experienced. I take time to listen to my patients
and fully understand their needs. I have pursued postgraduate dental education to advance
my knowledge and skills in order to provide my patients the best diagnosis and treatment
my profession has to offer – and that is considerable.
I believe one of my jobs is to inform my patients about optimal oral health care
and assist them in making health choices appropriate for their individual circumstances.
Sharing the enclosed quarterly newsletter with you is one of the ways I can show you the
type of practice I have. This is my gift to you and I hope you enjoy it. This particular
issue features the “new patient” experience and describes the type of comprehensive oral
health evaluation that I provide all of my “new” patients.
This newsletter is a publication of The L.D. Pankey Dental Foundation, Inc., a
nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting comprehensive oral health care and to the
advanced training of dentists in all aspects of dental practice (clinical, managerial, and
behavioral). I have participated in continuing education programs at The Pankey Institute
so that I may help my patients achieve both optimal oral health and naturally beautiful
improvements in the appearance of their smiles.
The Institute has earned the reputation of being the premiere continuing education
center, not only because it is devoted to the health-centered model of dentistry and to
raising the standards of oral health care worldwide, but because dentists who participate
in the educational program become increasingly more satisfied with their “work” and the
significant difference they make in the lives of their patients.
I hope this newsletter will inspire you to call my office for a comprehensive oral
health evaluation or simply to ask questions and discuss concerns that will help you
decide if you would like to make such an appointment.
Wishing you Optimal Oral Health,
