full details with names of the court, case number(s) and details of what the proceedings

were about:

Has there ever been any assessment by the Child Support Agency? If so, please

provide full details of that assessment:

Which of the following factors do you wish to rely upon to demonstrate that the marriage

/ civil partnership has irretrievably broken down?

Unreasonable behaviour: provide full details of the behaviour you wish to rely upon with dates and examples

and how this behaviour made you feel. You should try and concentrate on the last 6-12 months; any older and it may have

less impact.

Adultery: cannot be used in the dissolution of a civil partnership. Provide full details with any dates / confession and

the circumstances that you found out, etc. You do not need to name the third party (and we recommend that you do not)

but if you do, please provide their full name and address.

2 Years Separation – with your spouse’s / partner’s consent: please provide the date you

separated. The period of separation must amount to 2 years although any periods of reconciliation will not affect this

provided that together they do not amount to more than 6 months altogether.

5 Years Separation: this does not require consent – please provide full details of separation as detailed previously.

Desertion: provide dates and circumstances of desertion

We require you to provide us with the original marriage certificate or a certified copy from

the registry. This is filed with the petition at court and will not be returned.

In the event that there are property issues or issues concerning the residence or your

contact with the children, these can only be dealt with on an individual basis in which

case we would invite you to contact us direct and speak to one of our family team [link to

Family website page].

Any advice in relation to financial aspects of the separation will not form part of the

fixed fee divorce service and would require additional analysis of other aspects which

we are be able to provide.

.

The Process:

The process will take between 4 – 6 months (provided matters proceed on an

undefended basis). For a more detailed explanation please see Divorce Procedure

[hyperlink]

Receipt of your completed questionnaire, statement of arrangements for children (if

required), your marriage certificate and cheque to cover the fees in the sum of £715

(£275+VAT and Court fees of £385),will be taken as your acceptance of our Terms of

Business (hyperlink).

Once you have provided all of this information you will be informed of the person dealing

with your case. Work will commence immediately upon receipt and you will be able to sit

back knowing that your divorce is being handled for you.

We will of course need to send you papers to approve and sign and will confirm all

important dates. We will also provide you with important documents such as the decree

absolute (the document which completes the process and finalises your divorce).

If the matter becomes defended or your spouse does not co-operate in signing the

divorce papers, other fees may be chargeable. Full details of this can be discussed

and provided at that time.

We are able to provide a complete package of other services which you may also need

as part of your divorce e.g. sale of your house or the need to make a will. You need to

be aware that whilst married, if you die without making or updating your will, your spouse

or civil partner may automatically inherit your entire estate, including benefits under a

pension and other life insurances [link to wills page].

Change of Name:

On conclusion of your divorce you may decide that you want to legally change your

name. We can provide this service for a fixed fee of £75 +VAT (£90). If you would like
