Hey all, I have been a board troller for sometime now but this is my first post, I usually don't have anything good to put on here. We all know that if you group with a high level character you don't get much xp. Here is a little trick I use that I do actually get a decent amount.
I recently started a warrior and wanted to level up quick and here is how I did it. I turn on auto follow on my 60 warlock and steer with her. I then proceed to go around and collect every quest in the zone and run my warlock around killing the stuff that needs to be killed. This doesn't give you good xp for killing but you still get the same quest xp. Plus you get good loot since you aren't grouping. You will find that about every few levels you will outlevel your quests, at which point you can go to another area for your level, or just get a few levels regularly or use other tactics of your own and then continue.
Also, around level 8 or 9 you can use the quick spawning Defias in Westfall to level up with your other account. As a warlock I can throw one dot on them and they die in seconds and another instantly respawns. I do this until I run out of mana, run away and drink and run back for more. You get about 10xp per kill but it adds up to a lot more as I can easily drop 30 or more before I have to drink and in about 2 minutes or less of killing. This is only effective for a couple levels however and I wish I could find more instant spawn camps for higher level mobs.
The final tactic and bread and butter of this PLing is where I level quick. Once I hit around level 14 or 15, I run Deadmines with the warlock. Being that low level you have to stay back really far so as not to aggro anything. The amount of xp will increase as you get levels. At level 14 I was getting 2.5k to 3k per run, now at level 20ish, I can net up to 8k per run, plus unbelievable loot and upgrades for my low level. Whether or not this works better than just leveling yourself depends on how fast you kill, as I said before I drop a DoT on every mob in range and they all drop fast. I think Priests and Warlocks would be best at this, followed by a mage, and then melee classes. I can completely clear (even mobs off the beaten path) VC in about 45 minutes or less
At about 23 or 24 I wil be moving onto Stockades and then Gnomeregan after that. I plan on testing this tactic more to see if it is more beneficial to run with a level 60 or a full group of the same level people as you! Good luck and have fun and just to provide some more facts I have hit level 22 in about 16 or 17 hours played (whether or not that is a good stat I dunno).
