									Job Description Director of Fundraising and Communications

Location: London, SE1 (London Bridge) Reports to: Chief Executive Salary: £38-42,000 plus 5% pension contribution after three months service. Full-time An exciting and diverse role for someone with a proven track record in business development and communications looking for a new challenge. MOVE Europe supports severely disabled children and adults to become more independently mobile and live healthier and happier lives. The charity is responsible for the development of the MOVE Programme across Europe and currently 2,500 severely disabled children from 300 schools benefit from the programme. We have ambitious expansion plans and are seeking a member of the senior management team to help us deliver our new objectives. Purpose of Role Responsible for leading and managing MOVE Europe’s fundraising and income generation activities, in particular developing sustainable income streams. Working with MOVE Europe’s Funding Council your role will be key to MOVE Europe’s future success. In addition, you will develop, lead and manage MOVE Europe’s communications and marketing activities. Relationships The post holder will work closely with the Chief Executive and other members of MOVE Europe’s staff, Funding Council and Trustees as well as the charity’s PR agency and donors. Responsibilities 1. Develop and implement appropriate fundraising plans to achieve a sustainable increase in income generation, focusing on generating unrestricted income where possible and supporting MOVE Europe’s needs for financial stability and growth. 2. Working with the Chief Executive to agree targets, identify new income streams and develop innovative and effective plans to secure long-term funds. 3. Deliver fundraising plans and meet agreed targets - with the support of the small team. 4. Work in collaboration with the Chief Executive and Funding Council to ensure they can actively contribute to the fundraising effort as appropriate. 5. Maintain and further develop relationships with MOVE Europe’s existing donors. 6. Deliver MOVE Europe’s marketing and communications activities.

7. Work closely with the charity’s PR agency to ensure maximum awareness raising amongst key target audiences. 8. Manage in-house team to ensure marketing and communications objectives are achieved.
9. Oversee the development of local authority service level agreements.

10. Specific line management responsibility is currently for one member of staff. 11. Any analogous duties as may be required by the Chief Executive in the running of the charity. 12. Ensure that MOVE Europe’s core values and policies are upheld and implemented at all times.

Terms and conditions Position is subject to references and a CRB check. The probationary period is six months. This post comes with 25 days paid annual leave and a 5% non-contributory pension (after 3 months of service). It is based at our London head office, Unit C, 15 Bell Yard Mews, Bermondsey Street, London, SE1 3TY (ten minutes walk from London Bridge station).
