Summer School Schedule for 2001
The schedule for this year’s summer school classes is as follows: First day for students -
Monday, June 8 and Last day for students - Thursday, June 28. Students should report
to their designated site at 8:00 a.m. The school day will conclude at 2:00 p.m.
Transportation will be provided for students needing summer school instruction. Please
contact the Catawba County Schools’ central office, 464-8333, if you have any questions
about the schedule.
Courses to Be Offered During Summer Instruction
Remediation in the following areas will be offered during this year’s summer
instruction: Reading Competency, Math Competency, Computer Skills -- Multiple
Choice, and Computer Skills -- Performance. Students must pass all four of these tests
in order to receive a high school diploma in North Carolina. You can obtain a copy of
the Released Form of all of these tests from your guidance counselor.
Students needing course credit for high school courses, such as Algebra 1 or
Biology, will need to attend summer instruction at Catawba Valley Community College.
The cost of this instruction is 250.00 per course. Contact your guidance counselor for
more information.
