IN THE NEWS

Our chapter currently has a few members serving in public office: US Congressman Patrick Murphy

,(www.murphy08.com), PA State Rep Bryan Lentz (www.votelentz.com) and Phila Judge Patrick Dugan. We

should have another but dirty tricks prevailed in the election involving member David Oh

(www.davidoh.org) in his bid for Philadelphia City Council.

CHRISTMAS PARTY

December 6, 2008 is the date. 8-12pm at the Black Lake Room in Northeast Philly (1 block north of McNulty

and Southampton Rd). $35 a head – reserve seating! The Reason for our party is to be with fellow

paratroopers, their families and their friends for the holidays. Join us – yeah you – where have you been?  –

we have not seen you in awhile and you are missed (most of you ). If there is a financial problem call us

and we can waive the costs – if you need a ride, call us and we will find you a ride – come alone or bring

family and friends -- but join us

CHAPLAIN

Chaplain Leon Anderson is doing a great job. Rumor has it that he really is a minister. On the 3rd Tues of

each month Leon “hosts” an 8am breakfast with Veterans at the Exton Diner. You are welcome to attend –

sometimes more than a hundred vets are there. Leon is going to see the Bronze Star get pinned on his son

Alan, a full bird colonel in the Air Force for his service in Iraq. Col Anderson has a daughter graduating from

the AF Academy and a son in OCS right now. Contact Leon at AMM1993@verizon.com or by phone 610-

513-0209.

TREASURER

Bob Alexander in his first year as treasurer is doing a superb professional job being the caretaker of our funds

– Tip of the beret to Bob.

HONOR GUARD

Our Color Guard under the leadership of Ralph Golden, continues to represent this chapter and the

Airborne like no other. Everywhere they go – they receive high praise. They may not be 19 anymore, but

damn they look good and keep extremely busy. They represented at various events including the Bridesburg

Parade, Vietnam Memorial, DoWop Festival and Patrick Ward Memorial (and at other American Legions

and VFWs). Irish Weekend in Wildwood is fast approaching and our Color Guard will be marching Sunday,

Sept 21in the parade. They will be staying for the weekend (there may still be room for you at 1002 Ocean –

so call and/or stop by). Ralph can be reached at 267-231-4891.
