For Immediate Release: Tuesday August 19, 2008 2004 HOMICIDE SUSPECT TO BE ARRAIGNED.
This morning at Danbury Police Headquarters, Major Case Squad Detectives arrested Marash Gojcaj, 32, for the April 2004 murder of Zef Vulevic. The victim was co owner with Gojcaj of “Gusto Restaurant” formerly located at 275 Main St, Danbury. Mr. Vulevic was reported missing in early April, 2004 and was last seen alive at the restaurant on April 4th. On April 24th, dismembered human remains, later determined to be those of Vulevic, were discovered on Baldwin Rd. in Bedford, New York. As a result of a four year investigation of this homicide by Danbury Police Detectives, the New York Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Danbury States Attorney’s Office, A warrant was submitted to and subsequently signed by a Danbury Superior Court Judge. Also participating in this investigation were the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, the United State Marshal’s Service and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office. Prior to his arrest in connection with this investigation, Gojcaj had been incarcerated in Westchester County NY on unrelated charges.
