Comedian and Host of This Week in Blackness
Elon James White is a Brooklyn-based comedian, writer and host of the
popular web series This Week in Blackness, a satirical look at race,
politics and pop-culture in a so-called “post-racial” America. White has
been a featured commentator on VH1's Black to the Future and The Great Debate. His
commentary on race and politics has been featured on The Huffington Post, Alternet, and The
Root.
White also co-hosts the award-winning audio and video podcast, BlackingItUp!, broadcast live
every Monday through Thursday. White and the show’s other hosts take a daily look at politics,
race, and pop-culture in a so-called “post-racial” America, inciting real-time dialogue in a live
chat room and on Twitter and Facebook. BlackingItUp! has garnered a fan base of nearly 7,000
and is the 2011 winner of “Best Podcast” in the Black Weblog Awards
