Re: Salesforce.com User and Developer Conference Proposal
I‘m writing to ask for approval to attend salesforce.com‘s annual user conference (Dreamforce ‗11) this
August 30–September 2 in San Francisco. Dreamforce is 4 full days of learning—best practices, hands-
on training, and new innovations.
This year, the International Customer Management Institute (ICMI) will be there, featuring its highest-
rated workshops and top speakers. Topics will cover contact center strategies, leadership, and workforce
management. It would be a great opportunity to learn from the best—on how manage agents, measure
programs, and continually improve our customer service.
Dreamforce is the one conference each year that brings together the entire community of Salesforce
experts. At a total cost of about $2,400, it's not just the most cost-effective way to ensure we‘re getting the
most from our Salesforce investment, but we should see immediate ROI.
In particular, I‘d like to focus on finding solutions or best practices that could benefit these projects:
[add project or initiative]

In addition to 450+ breakout sessions with salesforce.com customer and partner speakers, the
conference offers the chance to problem solve with salesforce.com employees and technology partners.
The Cloud Expo, which features Salesforce solutions plus 275+ partners and 1,000+ integrated solutions,
is an ideal place to pick up new ideas to drive more productivity from our implementation.
Here’s an approximate breakdown of conference costs:
Airfare: $ 500
Transportation: (round trip taxi from airport to hotel) $ 80
Hotel: (3 nights at $200) $ 600
Meals: (3 days at $50) $ 150
Registration Fee: $ 1099
Total: $2,429
This conference should deliver incredible value. I‘ll learn how to implement and use the latest features
and see what‘s planned for future releases. I‘ll also develop better contacts with service experts and gain
knowledge in contact centers, collaboration, and customer communities. These ―wins‖ will pay off in the
form of streamlined practices, tested solutions, and a network of peers to call on when troubleshooting.
I‘m currently working on ways to reduce expenses, including hotel discounts, ride sharing, and meals with
vendors. I‘ll also submit a post-conference report that will include an executive summary, major
takeaways, tips, and a set of recommendations to maximize our current investments in Salesforce. I can
also share relevant information with key personnel throughout the company.
Thank you for considering this request. I look forward to your reply.
Regards,
