Shiver me timbers! Our class will be participating in a very special geography
activity on Friday, August 26. In conjunction with our social studies theme of
maps, our class will participate in a treasure hunt! During our treasure hunt, the
students will be able to read and follow a map in a treasure hunt to find the
location of the treasure. Also, they will demonstrate their knowledge and
understanding of symbols, keys on a map, and directions by following the map
with ease. In conclusion, the students will be able to create a logical, accurate
treasure hunt map themselves.
Of course, we need buccaneers if we are going to follow a treasure map and
find our booty of doubloons! So, students may bring a pirate hat to wear during
our treasure hunt on Friday. Don’t be a landlubber! Make sure you have your
sea legs! I look forward to seeing all “me little buckos” on Friday!
