POSITION:             Human Resources Generalist
LOCATION:             Paint Line - Cambridge

JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for providing human resource services at CENTRIA’s Cambridge, Ohio Paint
Line, which is a UAW plant. This includes understanding and following the Union Agreement as well as the
development and implementation of plant wide policies and procedures, salary administration, recruiting,
staffing and benefit administration as well as the overall coordination of orientation, training, benefits,
employee services, employee relations and health promotion activities. This position also ensures plant
wide compliance with all legal and corporate guidelines. The individual will be a member of the plant
leadership team and will work closely with the other leaders to maintain a workplace that conforms to
CENTRIA’s core values. Additionally, there is a dotted line responsibility with the Corporate HR Team. The
position reports to the Plant Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Recruitment – review resumes and applications; interview applicants; administer assessment tests;
  conduct reference checks; coordinate post offer testing and background checks; work with temporary
  placement agencies
 Orientation – provide new hires with information necessary to be a CENTRIA team member, including
  completion of applicable employment forms
 Wage & Benefits Management -
            o Provide information to team members on all CENTRIA benefits, including new hires
            o Ensure that all changes are made as appropriate (beneficiary, name/address, dependents)
            o Conduct & evaluate local area wage survey
 Payroll – provide information to Payroll regarding new hires, salary changes, terminations
 Plant Policies and Procedures – develop and administer policies and procedures; ensure corporate
  policies are administered correctly; respond to team member inquiries regarding policies and
  procedures
 Employee Relations – Maintain team member files and job descriptions; conduct and document exit
  interviews; prepare turnover and absenteeism reports; be aware of issues affecting morale; attend and
  prepare minutes of Joint Board Meetings
 Training & Development – coordinate training and development of employees; conduct annual
  harassment training; assist with planning and conducting monthly plant meetings
 Compliance & Reporting – assist management with disciplinary actions; prepare required compliance
  reports; manage team member issues associated with FMLA, ADA, EEOC, HIPAA, FLSA, etc.; maintain
  workers comp files and assist with accident investigation
 Lead the Employee Committee – assist with Activities and Contribution Committees

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND INDIVIDUAL TRAITS:
 Bachelors degree preferred; 3-5 years HR experience in plant environment; benefits training
 Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise good judgment in decision making process
 Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
 Ability to balance need for consistent policy administration while being a strong advocate for team
  members
 Strong presentation skills to large groups of team members
 Experience with self-directed work teams a plus and familiarity with competency based pay desirable
 Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, knowledge of Lotus Notes
 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
