Q. If an existing customer has 6 months left on their Symantec Manhunt maintenance
contract, can they role it over on to their new Symantec Network Security 7100
contract?
A. No. When a customer takes advantage of the trade up offer they forfeit their
existing contract and begin a new contract with their new purchase.
Q. Where can I find the necessary contracts for the trade up promotion?
A. The trade up application can be found on PartnerNet under the Symantec Security
Appliances section.
Q. Does the end user need to send their existing appliance somewhere to qualify for
this offer?
A. No. The customer needs to sign the cessation of use form for their existing
appliance, meaning they can no longer use it for their business. They can dispose of
their existing appliance as they see fit.
Q. Where can I find a list of qualifying Symantec and competitive products?
A. The list of qualifying products can be found on the application. The application is
posted on PartnerNet under the Symantec Security Appliances section.
Q. To take advantage of this offer do all purchases need to be made at the same time.
A. Yes. A customer cannot receive the same discount on add on functionality after the
initial purchase.
Q. My customer has one competitive IDS appliance and would like to purchase three
Symantec Network Security 7100’s. Does this customer qualify for a discount on all
appliances purchased?
A. No. The discount is only good in “one for one” transactions.

software with a 100 Mbps license for Symantec Network Security 7100.
They should purchase the 7120 appliance and the 100Mbps trade-up SKU (which is
also the activation pack)and the 67% discounted customer trade-up promo sku).
1b. The same customer wants to increase the licensing to 200Mbps.
They must purchase the additional 100 Mbps add-on license at full price.
