Welcome and thank you for supporting "Love Your Bones day (4)". We hope that the day will be as
successful as the previous 3 events. The purpose of "Love Your Bone's day” is to inform and educate
patients and the public about maintaining bone health. Fractures and falls are occurring with increasing
frequency in our ageing population and pose a significant challenge to our health and independence. We
hope that by improving public awareness, we can inform individual lifestyle and health choices. In
addition we hope to attract scarce resources to this important area. We have listened to feedback from
previous events and engaged with the members of our local branch of the National Osteoporosis Society to
produce a programme that I hope you will find accessible, relevant and ultimately helpful.
