					Project Ability MARKETING COORDINATOR


Purpose of the Post

To coordinate, deliver and implement Project Ability’s marketing activity to
build audiences and develop strategies and partnerships to enhance the
work of Project Ability.

Project Ability is seeking to appoint a creative and self motivated individual
who will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and dedicated staff
team to develop and manage the organisation's information and
communication systems.

Project Ability is a leading visual arts organisation which enables people with
disabilities and mental health issues to discover their artistic expression,
develop their artistic practice and achieve their creative potential.

Established in 1984, Project Ability celebrated its 25th anniversary by moving
into Trongate 103 in the summer of 2009. Trongate 103 is a dynamic new arts
venue in the centre of Glasgow which houses eight of the city’s leading arts
and cultural organisations.

Job Description
Applicants must be passionate and knowledgeable about visual art:
excellent design, copywriting and communication skills. Attention to detail is
of paramount importance.

Main duties include (but are not limited to)

   Oversee website content.
   Deliver on e-marketing, continuing development of website and use of
   social media platforms.
   Design, lay out and production of brochures, posters, news letter and
   other promotional materials.
   Management of mailing lists, enewsletter subscriber lists etc.
   Co-ordinate exhibition previews, events and networking opportunities year
   round.
   Maintain and update press and media lists.
   Working within budget to achieve maximum cost effectiveness in all
   areas.
   Supporting research and evaluation projects to monitor the effectiveness
   of the marketing effort

Person specification

Essential

Experience of managing web based information systems, good
administrative skills and marketing knowledge are essential.
Educated to degree level
Precise copy-writing skills


Work related experience

      At least 2 years experience of working in a busy arts marketing
       environment
      Experience of working to a tight budget and delivering high quality
       results
       Experience of representing an organization to the public and/or
       media
      Experience in web-based media work and online development
      Excellent IT skills – advanced knowledge of MS Word, Adobe Creative
       Suite, Excel and database systems
      Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and
       proofreading
      Good copy writing skills and strong graphic sense
      A proven track record of success in devising and implementing
       marketing strategies.
      Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage resources
       effectively.
