Achieving continuing patent status for all of Energy Additives' six major

CGX-4®: Premium Propane Fuel:
This fuel, designed for LPG-powered internal combustion engines, drastically
reduces emissions, lowers maintenance costs and improves performance. How
does this occur? First, CGX has combustion-improving compounds to
minimize pre-ignition in the combustion chamber prior to spark plug ignition
resulting in increased power, more efficient fuel economy and a significant
reduction in carbon monoxide, nitrous oxide and unburned hydrocarbons.
Second, the emulsifiers in CGX-4 soften and remove hydrocarbon buildup that
can interfere with engine operation. Third, a surfactant takes care of free water
found in most LPG. Finally, the upper cylinder lubricant provides a light film
coating to the cylinder walls, rings and valves to increase engine efficiency,
reduce operating temperatures and prolong engine life.
VAPO-KLEEN®: Premium Propane Fuel:
A highly effective supplement for propane, VAPO-KLEEN is used in heating
or drying applications where the product is vaporized using direct- or indirect
-fired vaporizers. This product consists of several unique chemical compounds,
removing and preventing deposits occurring in vaporizers as well
as downstream in regulators and valves. It also cleans tanks and lines. The
polar solvents used in VAPO-KLEEN first soften and then remove long chain
hydrocarbons. It also pulverizes and disperses water molecules, eliminating
the need for methanol except in extreme conditions. VAPO-KLEEN contains
no metallic elements or alcohol.
HGX-3®: Flame Enhancement Additive:
HGX-3 is a multi-purpose additive for the enhancement of propane flames
used for cutting, heating, soldering and brazing. A powerful catalyst creates a
hotter flame and more complete combustion, a much more effective
alternative that other gases used for flame cutting, flame hardening, stack
cutting, sheet metal repair, machine cutting, annealing, aluminum welding,

cast iron welding, brazing, heat treating and scarfing. HGX-3 has a 15%
higher flame temperature for faster, cleaner cutting, plus it is less expensive
and safer than acetylene or MPS.
GSL-4®: Gasoline Multi-Purpose Additive:
GLS-4 is an ashless, non-phosphorus, multi-component, multi-purpose,
concentrated formulation of gasoline-improving additives. This product cleans
fuel lines, carburetors and injectors, serves as a water control agent, reduces
emissions, acts as a substitute for lead, improves mileage and power, helps
prevent rust deposits, supplies critical lubrication to cylinder areas and meets
all EPA regulations. GSL-4 contains no methyl, ethyl or isopropyl alcohol.
DSL-5®: Diesel Fuel Additive:
DSL-5 is an ashless fuel additive/treatment that inhibits pollutants and
provides premium fuel performance from #2 diesel. Plus, DSL-5 has a
superior top oil to supply critical lubrication to upper cylinder areas. This is
especially important in vehicles that use 05 fuel; the top oil replaces the
paraffin lubrication lost in the desulfurization process. Proven in tests over a
five-year period in a wide variety of heavy-duty fleet operations, DSL-5 has
proven itself as a highly efficient dispersing agent, cold flow improver, water
control agent, detergent and controller for icing and gelling. Plus, DSL-5
diminishes the black smoke from unburned fuel by making the diesel fuel burn
more completely.
HFX®: Multi-Purpose Residual Fuel Additive with Combustion Catalyst:
HFX is a balanced compound of an organic dispersant, detergent and a
surfactant blended with a highly effective combustion-improving catalyst in a
pure hydrocarbon base. Each additive within this compound is designed to
improve performance characteristics found in residual fuel. The benefits of
HFX include: flowability of residual oil stocks is improved; varnishes, gums
and carbon deposits are reduced; water in residual fuels passes through
delivery and ignition systems; the formation of slag SO3 and the reduction of
excess air result in significant savings of fuel consumption; the compound
combination adds up to lower hazardous emissions and improves fuel
consumption; and, laboratory tests confirm the value of HFX as an additive to
residual fuel stocks.

CGX-4® is a highly effective additive for propane engine fuel that improves
the burning characteristics of LP-gas for better performance and economy. Its
innovative formulation produces a balanced compound of ashless organic
compounds in a pure hydrocarbon solvent. Carburetors and vaporizers require
constant service, but CGX-4's® unique cleaning power removes harmful
deposits and prevents future buildup of long chain hydrocarbons and other
contaminants that cause combustion problems, inadequate upper end
lubrication, and pre-ignition in the combustion chamber. Costly repairs and
downtime are greatly reduced.
Use CGX-4® as part of your regular maintenance program by adding a small
amount to bulk storage tanks or individual vehicle tanks or cylinders. Only
one ounce is required for 10 gallons of propane. Optimum dosage for large
tanks is one gallon to 2000 gallons of LPG. Handy, easy-to-use injector units
are available. Non-toxic CGX-4® contains no alcohol, and does not affect
odorant. It is safe for all propane-powered engines, and leaves no harmful
deposits in the combustion chamber.
At a quick glance, the alternatives to standard LPG-powered vehicles are
either conversion to compressed natural-gas powered vehicles (a very
expensive option), or replacement of your fleet with electricity-powered
vehicles which have limited capabilities. However, there is a very inexpensive
alternative that significantly reduces emissions of CO and other harmful
gasses: A premium LPG treated with CGX-4®, which has been proven to
reduce CO emissions significantly while literally paying for itself in reduced
maintenance costs alone.
1. Why should you be concerned about CO emissions?
OSHA, realizing the serious health hazard of LPG, has set guidelines of
carbon monoxide levels at 35 ppm. Corporations that allow employees to
work in facilities violating these guidelines face serious fines and possible
shutdown if they do not comply. Reducing CO emissions creates a healthier
work environment and prevents these economic penalties. CGX-4® reduces
carbon monoxide and particulate emissions, and helps maintain safe air levels
for indoor operation. Companies very concerned about compliance with
OSHA guidelines have adopted CGX-4® Premium Propane Fuel exclusively
for their lift truck fleets. Major automobile firms, pulp and paper mills, and
large shipping facilities, as well as heavy equipment manufacturers are finding
reduced emissions using CGX-4® Premium Propane Fuel.
2. What about reduced maintenance costs and improved performance?
LPG, as it passes through carburetors and vaporizers, deposits heavy-end
buildup, which inhibits performance and requires disassembly and cleanup of

these components. This is a time consuming process that can disable vehicles
in the fleet for prolonged periods. Labor costs to regularly clean these
components can add significantly to the cost of maintaining each fork lift
truck in the fleet. CGX-4® Premium Propane Fuel greatly reduces these
buildups. Valves and upper end engine components do not get lubrication
from the crank case, and LPG does not naturally provide proper lubrication to
these components. This leads to greater wear and major engine failure.
CGX-4® Premium Propane Fuel improves the lubrication of these
components.
3. How does CGX-4® work?
CGX-4® has combustion-improving compounds that minimize pre- ignition
in the combustion chamber prior to spark plug ignition of the fuel mixture. It
also provides a more even burn upon ignition, increasing the efficiency of fuel
combustion. Results include: higher pressures in the combustion chamber,
increased power, more efficient fuel economy, and a very significant reduction
in carbon monoxide, nitrous oxide, and unburned hydrocarbons in the exhaust
gasses. LPG often causes a buildup of long chain hydrocarbons in the engine's
vaporizer and carburetor systems. As buildup increases, the fuel does not
vaporize effectively. The emulsifiers in CGX-4® slowly soften and remove
buildup, which can interfere with engine operation. This oil-soluble substance
holds insoluble foreign matter in suspension so the heavy ends are carried
through the vaporizer and carburetor and are burned during the combustion
process. A surfactant takes care of free water found in most LPG by dispersing
the water and other liquid impurities into colloidal-size particles in the LPG.
The emulsifier retains the suspension through to final ignition, after which it is
expelled with the exhaust gas. CGX-4® components lubricate the moving
parts in the top of the combustion chamber that are not lubricated by crank
case oil. This top oil is not completely vaporized in the combustion chamber
because of its high flash point of 425 degrees Fahrenheit (218 degrees Celsius).
This results in a light film coating to the cylinder walls, rings, and valves. The
added lubrication increases engine efficiency, reduces operating temperatures,
and prolongs engine life. Another noted benefit is extended life to all
diaphragms, gaskets, and rubber parts due to the permeation and conditioning
effects of top-oil. Steel tank deterioration can also be delayed due to top-oil
penetration into the wall surfaces.

Use CGX-4® as part of your regular maintenance program by adding a small
amount to bulk storage tanks or individual vehicle tanks or cylinders. Add
one ounce of CGX-4® to 16 gallons of propane. Optimum dosage for large
tanks is one gallon to 2000 gallons of LPG. Injectors are available.

Ford Motor Company recommends the use of CGX-4® in their factory-built
F600 and F700 series LPG-powered trucks. The Owner Guide reads:
"Use only high quality propane designated as motor fuel (MF). Low quality or
non-recommended propane usually contains impurities which can deposit in
the fuel lock and converter/regulator. Deposit buildup will reduce the vehicle
and emissions control performance and increase system maintenance and
operating cost. In addition to using only high quality propane designated as
motor fuel, the use of a fuel additive such as CGX-4® or equivalent will
significantly reduce impurity deposit buildup and is recommended."
A large paper company has been using CGX-4® in their propane engine fuel
for more than nine years. Before they used additive, they were continually
rebuilding carburetors on their fleet of 90 lift trucks. Now, the problem has
been completely eliminated. They also report greatly reduced carbon
monoxide (CO) levels in their warehouse.
A Michigan school bus fleet had to clean out vaporizers every two to three
weeks because of fuel pollution. The problem was so severe mechanics had to
dig deposits out with a screwdriver. Adding CGX-4® cleaned up the systems
in a short period of time. The vaporizers have remained clean, with no
tear-downs required.

Thirty-nine step vans of an Arkansas laundry delivery fleet had a
long-standing history of severe valve problems. After using CGX-4®, they
reported a dramatic reduction in maintenance down time in the first year.
Valve problems have been virtually eliminated.
Gas Company -United Kingdom has been using CGX-4® since 2001. As of
January 2005, they have driven vehicles over the 10 million mile mark.
Following the introduction of multi additive CGX-4® to their regular fuel in
2001, they have calculated a minimum of 10 million miles have been covered
using CGX-4® in their fuel. The results have far exceeded expectations,
engine life and performance have been greatly extended and improved for
100’s of vehicles whose owners recognized the advantages of using a
Premium Grade Fuel. This is proof that a quality fuel can be more
economical than a less costly standard fuel. CGX-4® prolongs engine valve
life, gives better starting (especially when cold), improves consumption,
cleans the entire system, and less polluting!
Canwest - Canada had this to say about CGX-4® propane additive since
treating all their fuel with CGX-4®: “We have enjoyed increased sales in the
lift truck and ice resurfacing business as a result of using CGX-4®. As new
Workers Compensation Regulations are demanding lower indoor emissions,
the CGX-4® product has been a natural. We have been able to show
customers the benefit of using our premium fuel as well increasing our margin
or at least gain and retain business on a value added basis. In time when
competition is fierce, CGX-4® has given us a definite advantage over our
competitors.”
Company in Solvakia had the following test results after treating their
vaporizers with CGX-4 Propane Treatment: Test has shown that CGX-4®
propane treatment is effective in reducing the build-up of contaminants in
vaporizers and noticeable improvements in fuel consumption have been
reported (see pictures & results below):

LPG as it passes through carburetors and vaporizers, deposits heavy end

mixture. They also provide a more even burn upon ignition, increasing the
efficiency of fuel combustion.
Results include: higher pressures in the combustion chamber, increased
power, more efficient fuel economy, and a very significant reduction in
carbon monoxide, and unburned hydrocarbons in the exhaust gases.




A 100-pound (50 kg) cylinder of HGX® Fuel Gas provides over five times
the BTUs of a standard 5 cu. m³ acetylene cylinder, while costing less.

Faster Preheating and Piercing Rates For Cutting
The piercing flame temperature of HGX® Fuel Gas exceeds the flame
temperature of most cutting fuels. It starts the cut as rapidly as acetylene and
preheats and pierces faster than other combined cutting fuels at a lower cost.
Faster Cutting Travel Speeds
HGX® Fuel Gas is capable of cutting travel speeds equal to acetylene while
using lower quantities of oxygen than acetylene during cuts of up to 15-inches
thick. Further more, LPG (propane and butane) and other types of fuel gases
are not as fast in cutting steel, yet they use much greater quantities of oxygen
for the same amount of production.          The highest combined inner and outer
flame temperature plus the neutral flame temperature in oxygen provides the

Faster Heat Transfer for Brazing, Heating, Bending, Cambering,
Straightening, Hardening, and Melting Operations

Optimum proportion is one gallon of HGX-3® to 1,000 gallons of

On a recent field trip in the United States, several pieces of mild steel of
various grades and sizes were used in a test of HGX® Fuel Gas for an owner
of a welding shop with automatic and manual welding equipment. Our field
sales supervisor brought his OXY/HGX cylinders into the facility for the
demonstration. The shop owner was courteous, but definitely a "doubting
Thomas." However, after using HGX® Fuel Gas, he commented, "Your gas

provides the smoothest surface after the cut is made, with less slag and spatter
than any cutting fuel I have every used, including acetylene." While he is not a
large-volume user of cutting gas, he will now use HGX® Fuel Gas and pay
much less than if he used acetylene for the same operations.

HFX® is a balanced compound of an organic dispersant, detergent, and a
surfactant that are blended with a highly effective, combustion improving
catalyst in a pure hydrocarbon base. Each additive within this compound is
designed to improve particular performance characteristics found in residual

fuel.
The flowability of residual oil stocks is improved by the organic
dispersant in HFX®.
The formation of viscous emulsions and the stratification that often occurs in
residual fuels is greatly reduced. Dispersing long chain, heavy hydrocarbons
prevents them from settling into sludge. Tanks, lines, nozzles, and pre-ignition
components remain free of sludge and deposits.
The varnishes, gums and carbon deposits are reduced by the detergents in
HFX®.
Both pre-ignition and post-ignition deposits are reduced. Cleaner fuel system
components and burner surfaces mean improved performance.
The water in residual fuels passes through delivery and ignition systems
because of the surfactant in HFX®.
The surface tension of condensation and free-standing water is reduced
(proven through scientific tests), allowing it to pass through the system with
atomization of the fuel at the burner nozzles. This inhibits corrosion in the fuel
system and aids the combustion process.
The formation of slag, SO 3 and the reduction of excess air results in
significant savings in fuel consumption. All are improved by the
combustion improving organic catalyst in HFX®.
The combustion catalyst is a solution of organic compounds which are
dissolved in a pure hydrocarbon solvent, making them mixable with oils.
These organic ions dissolved in solution cause more rapid and complete
burning of the fuel and provide significant reductions in the corrosive effects
of high sulfur, high vanadium and sodium content of the residual fuel.
Control of deposits during the combustion process is effected by the organic
catalyst. This catalyst changes the nature of the vanadium oxides formed
during the combustion process. The vanadium pentoxide, which has a
relatively low melting point, is the primary cause of slag formation in
combustion chambers. In liquid or molten form, it acts as a binder and a
powerful corrosive agent. The organic catalyst in HFX® reacts with the
vanadium to form high-melting-point vanadates that deposit in dry friable
form, thus inhibiting the formation of molten vanadium slag.
Furthermore, existing deposits containing vanadium will usually be reached
by the action of the HFX® catalyst's vapors and drop off in pieces over a
period of a few weeks.
How does the organic catalyst in HFX® effect a reduction of SO 3 emissions,
the primary cause of acid rain?
When molten vanadium pentoxide is present, it acts as a catalyst to change the
SO2 in the presence of excess air to the more objectionable sulfur trioxide
(SO3 ), which then combines with moisture to form sulfuric acid. This, of

course, has a very serious corrosive effect on metal surfaces and the
environment. The dry, friable form of vanadates are deposited far less on
combustion chamber surfaces, thus substantially reducing the conversion of
SO2 to SO3
Additional improvement in the SO2 /SO3 ratio can be made by the reduction
of excess air. The combustion improving capability of HFX® will allow air
requirements to be reduced. Less air (and therefore less unused oxygen in the
ignition process) causes reduced SO3 formation.
The combination of dispersants, detergents, surfactants, and the combustion
improving catalyst in HFX adds up to lower hazardous emissions and
improved fuel consumption.
Lower air requirements and more efficient burning of fuel stocks add up to
significant savings. The combustion improvement capability of HFX® will
allow excess air to be reduced. This helps overcome heat loss up the stack by
reducing its velocity past the heating surfaces.

Laboratory tests confirm the value of HFX as an additive to residual fuel
stocks:
Combustion tests conducted and verified in a laboratory setting resulted in a
significant reduction of unburned residues and increased heat release.

Evaluation of the effects of the combustion catalyst on ash and residues:
To evaluate the effects of the organic combustion catalyst on ash and residues,
measured samples of untreated oils were burned in a combustion chamber
with air introduced at atmospheric pressure. The unburned residues were then
collected and weighted. The melting point of the residues were determined.
The percentage of unburned residue was 10.1% for untreated Bunker C versus
6.5% for samples treated with HFX. The ash melting point was 700°-760° C
for the untreated fuel and 1040°-1200° C for the treated fuel. This resulted in
an increase of nearly 50% of the melting point of residues and indicates that
the residue will be dryer and will not stick to heating surfaces.
Evaluation of the combustion catalyst on heat release:
A typical test to illustrate increased heat release is the Parr Oxygen Bomb
Calorimeter Test. The purpose of this test is to compare the rate of
combustion and the amount of heat release for treated and untreated Bunker C
oil. Oxygen has been adjusted to approximate the available oxygen in a
typical efficient oil burner. A measured sample of untreated Bunker C was
burned and the rate of heat rise recorded. The same oil was treated with a
measured dosage of the combustion catalyst used in our product and the test
was repeated. During the test when untreated oil was burned, it left sticky,
gummy residues. When treated oil was burned, the sticky, gummy residue
was not found and the amount of carbon was greatly reduced.




From the accompanying illustration, one can see the increase in heat release
for the treated oil during the first period shown may be calculated by
integrating to determine the difference in the areas of the two curves. This
calculation indicates that approximately 14.6% more heat was obtained from
the oil treated with our combustion catalyst. The slope of the
temperature-rise curves indicates the rate of the data below is 0.15°/second for
the untreated fuel, and combustion .025°/second for the treated fuel, an
increase of about 60% in the rate of combustion. The overall conclusion from
this data illustrates the effectiveness of HFX Residual Fuel additive for use in

LPG Standby Fuel Systems
Currently, LPG is being used as an alternative to natural gas on CO-generation
electrical power systems, large industrial boilers, and heaters. It is a standby
fuel which must instantly replace natural gas when the natural gas supplier
announces price increases during peak usage. This often occurs during the

winter months when the LPG in the standby storage has not been used for
several months.
Problems occur when this fuel must immediately vaporize to replace natural
gas. However, the inherent problems of the fuel may not allow for immediate
and complete vaporization.
Additional vaporizers and other equipment will not solve the fuel problems,
but there is a solution--using an LPG fuel that has been treated with
Vapo-Kleen®, a supplement that has proven to remove most of the problems
of vaporizing the fuel, while literally paying for itself in reduced maintenance
cost.
The Need For Vapo-Kleen®
LPG, as it passes through vaporizers and the fuel system, deposits heavy ends.
The hydrocarbon chains break down at this point in the fuel system, leaving a
buildup of a gummy residue, similar to grease. Water deposits in the vaporizer
and fuel system will not only contaminate the fuel, they can freeze, blocking
the flow of fuel.
These inherent problems can inhibit performance and require disassembly and
clean up of the components of a fuel system--a time consuming process that
can disable the LPG fuel system. Labor costs to regularly clean these
components during peak usage time can add significantly to the cost of
maintaining the boiler, heater, or dryer in the facility. Vapo-Kleen® greatly
reduces these problems found with ordinary LPG or HD5 propane.
Vapo-Kleen® does not contain metallic elements or hazardous solvents that
can add harmful impurities to the environment.
LPG often leaves a buildup of long-chain hydrocarbons in vaporizers, fuel
lines, and regulators. As these buildups increase, the fuel does not vaporize
effectively, nor does it flow easily through the system.
The emulsifiers in Vapo-Kleen® slowly soften and remove long-chain buildup,
which can prevent interference with the gas delivery system. The oil soluble
substance holds the insoluble foreign matter in suspension so heavy ends are
carried through the vaporizers and gas system and are burned during the
combustion process.
A surfactant also takes care of free water found in most LPG. The surfactant
disperses the water and other liquid impurities into colloidal-size particles in
the LP gas. The emulsifier retains this suspension through to final ignition,
after which it is expelled with the exhaust gas.
In standby fuel systems, LPG is stagnant for several months during the
summer in very large storage tanks. In the winter, the LP gas delivery system
is required to start up immediately, often within one hour upon notice by the
natural gas supplier. The long chain hydrocarbons and water can form a large,
concentrated mass during prolonged storage. The emulsifiers in Vapo-Kleen®

break down the long chain hydrocarbon (heavy ends) and water droplets
during prolonged storage and hold them in suspension, thereby "stabilizing"
the fuel during the summer months so it will more readily vaporize "on
demand" during the winter heating season. The Vapo-Kleen® fuel is stabilized
and kept ready for many months, reducing troublesome "standby fuel start-up
procedures" and other seasonal-related problems.
Another noted benefit is that the free water in LPG will be reduced to such
minuscule particles that freeze up of vaporizers and fuel lines will be largely
eliminated.
LPG is a fuel that has several undesirable characteristics when used as a fuel
in high volume demand systems, especially when used as an alternative to
natural gas in the cold winter months. Damage from heavy ends and oils,
along with free water found in LPG (even HD5 high purity LPG) can cause
the need for constant service in vaporizers. Long chain hydrocarbons and
other contaminants can cause combustion problems, as well.

A Major Electricity Producer in the Northern United States had serious
problems in cold winter months with a "lighting off" system to fire their coal
burning furnaces. Because the LPG did not immediately vaporize, the
potential of severe income loss was likely. The utility found that by treating
their LPG with Vapo-Kleen®, freeze-ups and other troublesome standby fuel
start-up problems were eliminated.
A Military Housing Facility in Maryland using LPG for residence heating
discovered heavy ends and oil were leaving a buildup of a gummy residue
similar to grease in the fuel systems and regulators, restricting the flow of gas.
Labor costs to regularly clean these components caused the contractor to
expend thousands of dollars just to keep the system operating. Upon using
Vapo-Kleen and our automatic injection system developed for such bulk
storage installations, all of these problems were eliminated.
Major Manufacturer's LPG Standby System was across the parking lot
from the plant. The 2" gas vapor supply line was buried under the parking lot.
Due to the difference in temperature above and below the ground, and the
distance the vapor needed to travel, the underground supply line would fill up
with a residue similar to grease (heavy ends or long-chain hydrocarbons),
restricting the flow of gas. The long supply line had to be cleaned out
regularly along with the regulators. After installing an automatic Vapo-Kleen®
injection system, heavy-end problems were entirely eliminated. The
maintenance staff no longer has to clean out the long gas supply line which
was a time-consuming chore. Furthermore, the LPG vaporizes immediately
upon demand on very cold days, reducing the need to use expensive natural
gas.




Many diesel engine service problems are associated with poor fuel quality and
fuel impurities. These conditions can result in the buildup of a large amount of
insoluble and water contamination. The result is low-temperature fuel gelling
and icing, premature filter and injector plugging, harmful engine deposits and
overall inferior performance. To cope with these problems, Energy Additives
initiated a program to develop an ashless fuel additive that would inhibit fuel

pollutants and provide premium fuel performance from #2 diesel. The result
was a new additive/treatment, DSL-5®, proven in tests over a five-year period
in a variety of fleets in heavy-duty operations.
COLD FLOW IMPROVER
DSL-5®'s cold flow improver reduces the pour point of diesel fuel and
increases pumpability and filterability at low temperatures. Engines start, run,
and operate efficiently in much colder environments than normally possible.
The improver contains an ashless, organic material that will burn with the fuel
and is not detrimental to the combustion process.
WATER CONTROL AGENT
Blended into DSL-5® is a water control agent that helps remove moisture
from fuel tanks, lines, and bulk storage tanks. Water droplets are broken down
into minuscule particles that disperse into the fuel and are removed during
combustion. Cold-weather icing is eliminated and rusting prevented. Removal
of free-standing water also stops micro-organism growth, which forms a
sludge-like material that can plug filters and injectors.
DISPERSANT
DSL-5®'s highly efficient dispersing agent breaks down fuel-related sludge
and oxidation residues into particles less than a micrometer in diameter. These
pass through the filtration and injector systems without causing any plugging
problems.
DETERGENT
DSL-5 contains a powerful but safe detergent to help get rid of fuel-related
deposits such as gum, varnishes and carbon residues. Regular use of the
additive treatment removes and inhibits build-up of deposits in the combustion
chamber, ring grooves, valves and other engine parts. Operating efficiency is
increased, engine life prolonged, and fuel consumption decreased.
ICING AND GELLING
DSL-5®'s cold flow improver and the water control agent will help control
low-temperature icing and gelling when used as instructed on a regular basis.

Construction:
A Battle Creek construction company with numerous trucks and heavy
earth-moving equipment has used DSL-5® for over five years. The first
benefit they noticed was the elimination of "black smoke" in the diesel stacks.
Overall, they have had a significant increase in mileage and hours on all

problems with our fuel."
Rubbish Trucks:

Improves Performance of Gasoline
GSL-4® contains compounds and ingredients that improve performance
aspects of gasoline as it is available today. Gasoline sold in the United States
and other developed countries is a highly consistent product designed to be
used shortly after leaving the refinery. However, when left in fuel tanks and

This chemical emulsifier breaks water into microscopic particles and disperses

eliminated when the system is rid of water. Rust and corrosion of fuel tanks

Emission Reduction
GSL-4® contains an ashless organic combustion improver that changes the
molecular structure of the gasoline to let it burn more completely, yet leave no
harmful deposits. Complete combustion means less unburned particles will be
emitted through the tail pipe. Unburned hydrocarbons are an essential

Lead Substitute

The Multi-Stage Filtration system from Energy Additives, Inc. is based upon a
combination of the principles, fluid movement, particulate and droplet, action,
re-action, interception plus molecular motion along with diffusion.
Stage One: Designed to remove and then hold the water, heavy oils, and
particulate from the fuel as it passes through the filter. As the fuel moves
through the first stage water droplets collide forming larger droplets. These
larger droplets fall out of the fuel flow and are trapped. The larger, heavier
particulate, by nature, is going to fall out of suspension in this stage. Inertia
and size will also trap medium size 40- micron to small 20-micron particulate.
Heavy oils will also be removed and held in this stage, along with most sulfur.
As an added benefit, when the size of the water droplets increases, smaller
particulate, heavy oils, sulfur, etc., are encapsulated in the water droplets and
held.
Stage Two: Has spacing before and after, so medium size particulate and
droplets can collide to form larger
droplets. While this material is lighter than what is collected in the stage one,
because of the unique design, the lighter particulate and droplets either are
held in this stage or will be held when they reach a larger size drop back to the
first stage. This stage removes particulate and water down to the 20-micron
level. By designing the second stage to allow the particulate and water
droplets as they become larger to move back to the first stage, prolongs filter
life. This is a combination ofVan der Waal and Coanda principles of
particulate and fluid movement.
Stage Three: As the fuel enters the stage where small particulate, water
droplets and heavy oil droplets do not follow the flow path perfectly, but
randomly collide with each other. The walls of this filter stage, and/or the

filter media causes larger droplets to form, plus encapsulating particulate, and
heavy oil aerosol droplets, within the small micron 10-micron filter stage. The
use of interception and diffusion was the resulting filtration technique for this
stage. The integrated result of molecular motion and filter media.
Stage Four: The final stage, was design to present optimum structure of filter
media. Not channel-like but rather to continuously present new rough surfaces
as obstacles in the flow path, causing the finer particulate, water, and heavy
oils to strike the rough surfaces and each other, until they become large
enough to be held in this media. Since most of the larger water, heavy oils,
and particulate molecules have been removed before entering this phase, the
5- micron stage is able to work longer and more efficiently. This unique
multistage system design does not have leaks around the filter cartridge and
unfiltered fuel is not allowed into the system.

BATTLE CREEK, MI (December 30, 2005) – Lloyd Lack, founder of Energy
Additives, has announced the launch of their newest product, a unique
multi-stage filter system that extracts 90 to 97 percent of impurities from LPG.
This innovative filter eliminates heavies and particulates (sulfur, metal flake,
etc.) protecting fuel injectors and precision components more completely than
any other product available in the industry today.
In development for the past two years, EAI partnered with BlueMoon, Inc. to
manufacture the filter. Energy Additives, providing worldwide fuel solutions
since 1984, has the exclusive distribution rights.
“When members of the forklift industry experienced logistical difficulty in
getting the quality LPG that they needed to make their equipment function

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Is there a pressure difference to determine when to change the filtration
unit?
A: Yes, your multi-staged filter is designed upon a combination of the
principles of fluid movement, particulate and droplet action, reaction,
interception plus molecular motion along with diffusion. It is designed to
remove and hold contaminants in each stage of the unit. As more and more
contaminants are removed and captured in the different stages, additional
pressure is needed to insure the proper flow of fuel to your equipment is
maintained. This shows up on the pressure gauge on the vessel and is known
as back pressure.
As your unit begins to fill with contaminants, starting with the First Stage and
its larger (75 to 40 micron) contaminants, then on to the Second Stage where
medium size (30 to 20 micron) particulate and droplets collide and form larger
droplets that are held in this stage. As fuel enters Stage Three small particulate
(15 to 10 micron), water droplets and heavy ends or oils droplets that do not
follow the flow perfect path but because of design randomly collide with each
other, forming larger droplets plus encapsulating particulate and heavy ends or
oils aerosol droplets which are held in this stage. Then fuel flows into the
Fourth Stage, the final stage, designed to present the optimum structure of
filter media to capture and hold all the small, finer contaminants (chemical
impurities, heavy ends or oils, 5 & 10 micron particulate and moisture).
Q: Can the heavy ends or oils captured in the different stages bleed thru into
the equipment fuel stream again?
A: No, your filter is an absolute filtration unit (nothing larger than the smallest
micron rated media is allowed thru) with no bypass built into it. Because your
filter is designed to intercept and capture contaminants of different micron size
thru assigned stages, making all stages last longer and is more cost affected.
Q: When do you change your filter unit?
A: As your filter begins to remove more and more contaminants you will
notice back pressure on the gauge on the vessel. Because of our 4 stage
design, each Stages a different micron level, the total systems works longer
and more efficiently before beginning to show back pressure. If your filter
does not have a pressure gauge, you may install one on inlet side of filter.
What we look for is that place where replacing your old filter with a new one
is the most efficient and cost effective. That sweet spot.
What we recommend is listed on the product description sheet and is for
normal use.
Some of things that can govern this recommendation are:
1. How clean is your fuel - Everyone thinks their fuel is clean but sometimes

contaminants are let into the fuel, by poor maintenance practices, transporting,
holding tanks, or pipe lines and other.
2. If you have had fuel problems before, and then have trouble either increases
or decreases from time to time, that does not mean the problem has gone
away?
a. LPG and gases move in a wave action picking up and moving moisture,
chemical contaminants, heavy ends or oils, and particulate thru your tanks,
piping, and equipment, one wave at a time. When the problem decreases there
is always some material left in your system.
b. Having some contaminants mixing with every load of fuel would cause the
system to load up contaminants and have the same effect over time as getting
one bad load of fuel.
Q: What is the typical droplet size for heavy ends or oils?
A: Heavy ends or oils can have different droplet sizes ranging from 50 to 5
microns that is why our filter is multi-staged. When the larger 40-micron
droplets are captured, the 30 to 20 micron size flows thru to be capture by the
next stage, etc.
