Wayne Goddard
Assistant director Commissioning, Doncaster Primary Care Trust

Wayne qualified as a general and mental health nurse of 21 years. Community Mental
Health Service Manager for Older People with RDaSH currently on secondment to
Doncaster PCT commissioning for vulnerable groups. He is Dignity Champion for the
commissioning directorate of the PCT.

Nicki Dyson
Area Manager, Alzheimer’s Society

Nicki Dyson is the Yorkshire Area Manager for the Alzheimer's Society responsible for the
management of services, staff and funding. Nicki recently ensured all branch managers
signed up as Dignity champions and were driving forward the Dignity agenda

Joanne Hirst
Care Home Liaison Service Manager,
Rotherham Doncaster & South Humber Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust

Joanne is a Dignity champion and Team Leader of the RDASH Care Home Liaison
Service. Funded by the PCT, The Care Home Liaison involves working within care home
environments to provide a patient-centred approach and rapid access to specialist mental
health services for older people with mental health difficulties and who live in registered
care homes in the Doncaster area, with the aim of maintaining residents in their current
care setting. Promoting Dignity is fundamental to the success.

Shelagh Marshall
Chair, Future Years

Shelagh Marshall is a Dignity Champion and Older People's Champion for North
Yorkshire. She is working with DWP, local government office and CSIP to develop local
networks to support champions.

Heather Stephenson
Regional co-ordinator, Age Concern

Heather Stephenson is the Yorkshire & Humber Regional Manager for Age Concern
England. Heather and her team support the 23 independent Age Concerns in the region.
Age Concern Leeds have a Dignity project as part of the Dignity in Care Campaign, and
aims to raise the standards of dignity and respect within residential and nursing homes in
